I’ve failed on both Enhertu (which shrunk my cancer but cause pneumonitis) and now Trodelvy (did not work at all - had major progression in first 3 months). I now have extensive liver mets and new mets in my spine & pelvic bone.
I’ll be meeting with my doctor Monday to discuss next steps, and in the meantime I’m trying to research what the options are. I’ve exhausted the oral/pill-based options over the past 3 yrs so we are now looking only at IV chemos. I am ER/PR+, HER-2 low.
I would love to hear from anyone who has had good results on other types of IV chemo — please let me know the chemo name & results you’ve experienced.
Many thanks in advance!!

I was diagnosed metastatic from the beginning. I had 12 cycles of weekly Taxol with Herceptin and Perjeta every 3 weeks. I was then stable on Herceptin, Perjeta(on and off) and Tamoxifen for 4.5 years. I tolerated Taxol fairly well. I too lost my hair. I have also had xeloda which worked for 6 months. Walking, my exercise of choice, was difficult for any length of time due to hand foot syndrome. Best of luck to you.
Hi, sorry I can't help as I am clinging on to Enhurtu even though it is failing.Ask for a Guardent 360 if you have not had one to check any mutations as this will help them decide which next.
Also have you had a liver biopsy to see if the type has changed? I had a second opinion and the new Onc was surprised I had not had a biopsy when Paxlitaxel failed for me
when I was diagnosed in June 2021, ER+ HER2 neg, my oncologist offered the option of starting with FEC IV chemo and then following up with letrozole/ibrance or to just start with letro/ibrance.
I figured, why not go with the high test first to give it a good kick, and then follow up with the daily medication.
So I did 8 rounds of FEC with barely any side effects - mostly just a fuzzy brain for the first few hours after each treatment. It also seemed to clear up my nickle allergy and some digestive issues I was having with meat and dairy 🤷♀️
After that, I started on Letrozole and kisqali in Jan 2022. I’ve been on letro ever since but had to switch from kisqali to ibrance, which I’ve been on since Sept 2022.
My scans have always shown improvement or stability so I’m happy with my choice.
I wish you the best with your appointment and your next treatment plan 🩷
So much depends on the type of cancer, I am HER+ only. 12 weeks of Taxol got rid of the cancer in a lymph node (metastasized from a mastectomy 2 years before.) Perjeta and Herceptin every 3 weeks for 4 years. Taxol anniversary is end of June. Hair came back, still dealing with peripheral neuropathy. Back pain from compressed vertebrae which may have been caused by the cancer.
