hello everyone! Does anyone take anything for itching? It’s most likely a side effect from ibrance or letrozole. Does Claritin help?

itching
my scalp itches like crazy so my gp prescribed a solution to apply (however get two bottles as it won’t calm down immediately)
Yes, I was given Gabapentin & Hydroxyzine by my primary doctor. I am supposed to take them 3x day but because it causes drowsiness, I only take it twice, am & pm. It has helped a lot. Still get the itch here and there but nothing how it was before. No more bloody skin.
I take Claritin and wash my hair with TGel per my dermatologist and have a spray for my hair. For a cream rinse, any type I want works great. Try it.
Im on IBrance and Letrozole since July 2021. Initially, I had an itchy scalp. Overall, my skin is itchy, but I notice it on my forearms and chest when I get heated from walking. It feels like little stabbing pricks. I use lotion and it calms down. Hope you get relief.
Hi—Coconut oil works for me. Oncologist recommended back in 2018 before I started chemo. Yay, it worked— No itchy head, body or face. Used it all thru no hair and every stage of growth. I use it every day. It doesn’t make me hot. I have a subscription to Amazon so it shows up 1x a month. I just put it on before bed. An added luxury is a nice soft wash rag with some warm water and use that before I put it on or I will slather it on when my skin is still wet out of the tub/shower. I am also on Letrozole/Ibrance 125/Zolodex. Take care ~
OMG the itching is the worst! It started with Ibrance and now that I am in capecitabine it is still annoying! I use cortisone plus otc. Some help ! Good luck
I have been using Claritin for a couple of years and have no Itching or discomfort...though sometimes if I haven't washed my hair in a few days...(it's very dry), I get an uncomfortable feeing on the scalp. A good shampoo and I'm fine...I believe the Claritin is a game changer...it deals with the way the histamine released by cancer cells is addressed.
Best wishes!
