Oh ladies!

Well I went to the Hospital today. I was worried about the Herceptin but it wasn’t just the that, I have been dizzy and short of breath. I called my oncologist to see what I needed to do. They told me to go to the hospital the doctor at the hospital told me the shortness of breath was not just that it was also confusion.

Anyway the cancer has spread to my head, I am having a hard time writing this because it’s hard. So it’s not just the Herceptin. Good luck to you

EvaL, I'm sorry to hear this but I am so relieved you went to the hospital . I do know a few ladies that have fought breast cancer to the brain and are now doing fine . Please let us know when you start new treatment and how you are doing . Sending you love and prayers !

I’m so sorry to hear that your cancer has found it’s way to your brain. My oncologist says that its very treatable there. I feel for you, and with you. I just got confirmation today that my cancer spread to my stomach and colon. Such an awful disease. We must keep on fighting, get back up every time we get knocked down. You are in a good place, the hospital will help come up with a good treatment plan. In the meantime rest if you can. Wishing you healing and sending good thoughts your way, take care!

I have had cyberknife rwice and now might be facing whole brain sparing radiation. Xeloda is one of the drugs that gets through the blood brain barrier a bit more than others. This can help clear up areas or keep them small. My lumbar puncture came back negative. I statred Xeloda after Ibrance 2 years, Piqray which I was resistant too, Taxol 5 cycles due to liver involvements and now Xeloda.

Now watch the resesrch. The UK resesrchers just found the protein that helps cells metastasize. After more resesrch they think they can repurpose the meds available to stop metastasis. Fingers across for a sense of urgency.

Sorry to hear about the spread. According to what I hear you may be able to fight the brain cancer better than somewhere else. Let us know what treatment options they give you.

Cyberknife and some meds break the blood brain barrier a little. Ibrance stopped my brain progression for 2 years, Taxol helped for awhile, and Xeloda has the ability to get into the brain a little to help reduce or control what is in the brain. Especially if you had prior radiation. Gets in better.

Short of breath could be chemo related. Or pleural effusion. Treatable. Cyberknife on the brain is successful I had it.
