I have been experiencing night sweats and the occasional hot flash presumably a side effect of Faslodex. I have been getting it since September, but this has not been an issue until recently. I wake up and my night gown is too damp to wear and the worst part is my shoulder length hair is WET. Has anyone experienced this and do you have any tips for dealing with this? (I never even had these during menopause!)
I know that this is a minor annoyance in the scheme of things but I would welcome your feedback. Thank you!

Hi Maddie,Yep - I have that too from my anti-estrogen treatment. Sometimes more, sometimes less and there is nothing you can do about it except love it, laugh about it, strip, open the window - and definitely keep a moist washcloth next to your bed. That really helps to cool off quickly.
Hi Maddie: I have been on Faslodex since March of 2019. I have occasional hot flashes and itching. The hot flashes are off and on. Don't know why some months I have them and others I don't. Good luck.
I had severe hot flashes when I started treatment and my wonderful, now retired, onc suggested Rx Effexor, the long acting type I can never remember the two letters that say that for this med. I don't remember my initial dose, but now I take 75 mg capsules, 2 in the morning and one at night. That turned my several times a day sweat pouring down my bright red face hot flashes to a very occasional, less than once a day, warm surges. Huge help. I've now taken it for about 18 years. Effexor is an anti-depressant but has also been found to reduce hot flashes. So anyone who is already taking an antidepressant needs to have their onc and the psychiatrist or other doc work together to figure out how to manage these meds. A damp cloth across the back of the neck can help, too. I found a thing called a "neck buddy" that is like a fabric tube with water absorbing stuffing that can be soaked in cold water and the put across the neck--I have no idea if these are still being made.
