Just tested positive for Covid. Had 4th jab a month ago but Hubby has it too so prob caught it off him.

Just a cough and bit short of breath but not major and just started my week off Ibrance thank god. Will ring oncology Tuesday and ask advice. I live next door to hospital oncology and A and E dept so always peace of mind.

Wondering who has had it and how long did it take to recover. My daughter gets married down South next Saturday , timing not good. Typical.

Thanks in anticipation of replies.

I had it a couple of weeks ago. Honestly it wasn’t a big deal for me. My doctor even had me continue my meds.

I felt tired and like I had allergies for a week, then had fatigue for another week. I am back to normal now

The criteria for how long to stay in isolation is a bit murky. I went by CDC guidance and stayed mostly at home for 10 days because I still tested positive after 5 days. But ask your doctor.

It’s good you’re fully vaccinated. That makes a huge difference. Although everyone is different…

Hope you have an easy time of it!!!

Hi DebbieAs you are vulnerable you can take anti virals. You only have a 5 day window in which to take them.

Hope you are fit and well for the wedding

Hi ClareI did register for the antiviral but they emailed me and are closed until Tuesday 8am . Just my luck. I do feel a lot better today though so fingers crossed for the wedding. I only had my 4th jab a few weeks ago so should have some protection there. I have just returned from Dublin on Thursday after a short break, first plane journey since lockdown so could have picked it up there too.

Happy Easter , have a lovely Easter weekend. Sun is shining in the North East will sit in the garden later.

Hugs

I know, 5 days isn’t long, especially on a bank holiday weekend!!O( well it’s good for your immune system to cope with fighting Covid itself. My husband was quite poorly with it, and I didn’t even catch it off him.I have had a letter for my 5th jab on the 26th!!!

I think you only have to self isolate for a few days now.

I hope you are better for the wedding.

Hi Clare! Have you had a fifth covid vaccine ?..and if so , how did it go ? I have had an NHS email inviting me for a vaccine but I wasn’t sure if I needed to wait another couple of months (as I had my fourth vaccine in January)? Hope you are well x

in reply toTeddielottie

Hi LeshI had my 5th one yesterday.

My 4th was in January. They like a 12 week gap between vaccines.

I had Pfeizer which Ihave had 4 of now.

Felt slow this morning and had a slight temp, but that’s all.

I am gladI have had another vaccine as still so much Covid around.

Hope things with you are good?

Happy Easter , but sorry to hear you have tested positive with covid , and more so with the timing ! But I hope that as you’ve had the fourth jab/booster, it will be mild . My brother- in -law in England had it over a couple of weeks ago and it took him 11 days to test negative, then his wife got it and she tested negative by day 7 ...but neither of them have had a fourth booster yet . They were both quite unwell for the first few days and still had a cough after testing negative . I hope the fourth jab makes a difference for you ! But also do look into taking the anti virals .Take care! Good luck ! x

Hope you get through it quick and lightly.I had it in February, I was also on my off week from Ibrance.

I felt fine …less wet than a cold, no cough or fever…just tired and tight chested. I only tested positive for about 4 days…but it took about 3 weeks to feel clear after that.

My Dr told me to continue my hormone blockers (Femara) but to delay restarting Ibrance until I was negative…because I had a few days until the tests showed positive in the start (home kit positive, informed oncologist..1st official test was negative… next day eventually got official 2nd positive)..it meant I was off Ibrance of an extra week.

Best wishes

I had Covid back in Mar 2020...very early. Stayed off Ibrance as I recovered. My husband tested positive a week ago Fri and still was positive this Fri. He has felt FINE since last Mon. Going to test again today, but it has tossed Easter plans up in the air. Third Covid Easter...and I am sooooo over this!

Hi there, so sorry you tested positive. I think everyone reacts differently. I tested positive April 1st and still suffering. Started with a really bad sinus cold then went to my stomach around the 5th day, horrible nausea, diarrhea terrible stomach cramps for 4 days couldn’t get anything but water down. This is day 17 have tested negative the last 5 days, but now have a bit of a cough, I think I’m a long hauler. My WBC always stay around 1, called oncology and they took me off Ibrance for a month, holy I was shocked it was that long. Usually people are off for a week. Everyone I know who had Covid recovered within a week or so, but not me lol. Having said that I had sinus problems my whole life along with asthma, so I didn’t think I would recover fast as I didn’t even when I just had a cold. Fingers crossed you be over it with mild symptoms soon. 😊

Hi Debbie,I also had a bad cold and sinus problems, and for a few days after recovering I had neuralgia type pain, which included aching jaw and teeth- thought I would mention this as I see you are on Xgeva/Denusomab and didn’t want you to worry that you had ONJ. My Macmillan nurse said she had it as well as an after-effect. It is all cleared up now.

I was also too late for the anti-virals as my LFTs were all negative and only the PCR tested positive. I also continued to take Ibrance throughout.

Get well soon!

hi Debra. sorry to hear and fingers crossed for 'mild'! could you still take the anti-virals when they open early on Tuesday morning.....that would still be day #4 and within the 5 day window. i know not optimal as you would want to get on them asap, but even on day #4, they may lessen the length? especially considering the wedding. just throwing it out there.

best wishes for a speedy recovery!

Hi CaroleHope you’re ok and thanks for the reply.

Managed to get the antivirals approved today, getting delivered this afternoon [Tuesday] . Still 3 days before the wedding so should help lessen the Covid symptoms.

Take care
