Well I am grateful to have had an entire year on Xeloda, longest success so far. All of my mets - lungs, bones...are clear. It's just my stupid liver which is perplexing because my liver blood work is normal. I would have fought harder against a change it if wasn't for the last 2 epically awful weeks coming off my last round of Xeloda. Yesterday was the first time I could eat and not have severe intestinal issues or vomiting (dry heaving - which happened at work and was appalling). I'm down ten pounds and have by this process fully detoxed from "bad"stuff (no wine or coffee helped I guess)
Taking an internet break for a bit but any direct messages with Taxol advice are appreciated. The journey continues....

Is this the same as Paclitaxel ? Are they giving you anything else with it ? I did the Paclitaxel last year and found it to be fairly easy to tolerate .
Hey there. I started abraxane (pacilataxol) in January. I have it iv one day per week for 3 weeks then a week off. I also am on herceptin (my onc took me off perjeta) and added Keytruda. That’s iv every 3 weeks. My onc won’t say how long I’ll be on this. How long were you on the abraxane? Did it cause you any Issues with blood counts etc? Before this I was on herceptin perjeta for over 2 years. It worked great and then I had progression with Mets showing up on my skin. Weird for it to show there and boy it started spreading fast. Seems to be fading now and has stopped spreading. I’m grateful.
I'm sorry that the Xeloda did not help with your liver issues and that you were having such awful intestinal issues. I hope that the Taxol will work for you and will not cause unpleasant side effects. Sending you some hugs and prayers.
Thanks for asking - actually quite well. My CA15 is down to 80! Last year it was 8000 and in February it was 800. The first round was 6 weeks so it was pretty harsh but now I do three on one off and it seems like a breeze. Its funny but now I am actually doing the best I have done in almost 3 years but I look like I have cancer now - lost weight and no hair. I finally bought a wig for work meetings. Hope you are doing well and I do appreciate you asking.
That is great , I am so glad it is working for you . I can relate to looking like you have cancer but feeling well .
After the treatments are over your will get back to your old self again . Hair growing always helps & a little hair colour
