New nodules?

Had PET scan today with report showing 6 new lung nodules along with a cyst on the liver and left kidney. None showed hyperactivity. Been on Ibrance and Arimidex for 30 cycles for lung metastasis found in May of 2019. I will see oncologist next Tuesday to hear his opinion. Not sure whether to freak or be settled that no activity seen on scan. Opinions?

Hi

Sorry that your not too happy with your scan results.

From what I’ve read Ibrance is your first treatment since MBC diagnoses, there are many other treatments.

Try to stay calm and talk to your oncologist. If necessary your tactics might be changed using alternative meds.

I’m only 7 months in and have already changed treatments twice. It’s positive that you have managed 30 cycles of Ibrance…there are two other similar types of this type of medication available, Kisqali (Ribociclib) and Verzenio (Abemaciclib). Depending on your specifics one of these might be an option.

I expressed concern to my oncologist, when I only managed 3 months on my first meds (Kisqali). I felt like I was getting through options too quickly, but she reassured me that it’s normal to take some time to settle into a treatment plan and that (from memory) she counted 27 alternative treatments that could work for me.

Best wishes

Zoe xx

Conventional medicine proves time and time again its helplessness in healing even with the new drugs for which the doctor is so accommodating. It is the facts that determine whether we will live or die.I have long since come to the conclusion not to rely on medication and add a curative diet. There's Dr. Nasha's book on ketogenic nutrition. I have been doing this diet for a month now and I feel much better. Send me an email and I'll explain what I eat. I took it very seriously and I fight every day.

In addition, it is said that using cannabis oil Rick Simpson kills tumours for sure. Go for it too. You have nothing to lose.

From reading your history, I'm sure you will stay calm. You have been through a great deal in the past couple of decades!

Six new lung nodules is concerning, but I think the lack of activity is considered a good sign. I assume your oncologist won't be asking you to switch treatment at this point since you've already managed 2.5 years on a targeted drug combo, but, if s/he does, do ask for a detailed explanation and research references for any alternative drugs suggested.

Warm wishes,

Cindy

Hi: Just my unguided opinion but I would stay on the Ibrance for another round. They always seem to change to quickly.

Just my thoughts and nothing to base them on.

Cheers, June S.
