Question about Gemzar aka Gemcitabine Hcl

Curious and looking for those who have experience with Gemzar. I have been on Abraxane for four months, but my liver numbers and tumor markers have taken a rather abrupt u-turn in the last month, so tomorrow we switch to Gemzar. I would be so grateful for any shared wisdom as well as prayers. I also am having a PleurX catheter installed next Wednesday. Thank you in advance.

Sorry, I do not know the drug. My liver, bones and abaxoldomen are now being treated with taxol.

Taxol is a good treatment. I've always liked the taxanes, even though they can do a number on your nails and finger/toe neuropathy. I'm glad you're doing well on it.

I am starting next week on Gemzar. My onc said its very well tolerated, been around for 25 years. He has dozens of patients who have been on it for years and they do very well. I have bone mets, no organ involvement. Said it was a good choice for me. Did well on ibrance for a year and then progression. Switched to piqray which I was only on for 2 months. I got so sick I was off for 5 weeks to recover. Wishing you the best.
