After dinner. I am 3 weeks on both and 2 weeks just letrozole. This sounds crazy but I feel better when on both together. Letrozole itself causes me more body aches , tired and mood changes , depressed , anxious. Has anyone else experienced this before ?

I have MBC to my bones , kidney, spleen , lymph nodes under right breast,

I don't have any problems and I'm three weeks on both and one on just letrozole. Hope you get it sorted soon. X

Actually this happened to me too. At the start of Covid my med onc suggested that I hold Ibrance, so I was only on Letrozole. I did experience more severe side effects than when I was on them together. I was told that other people who paused their Ibrance complained of the same thing, but that they don’t have a lot of information on it because people usually only go off of Ibrance when it stops working and then they are put on something else.

I had the same problem, when just on letrozole. I did not like that week.

Great to hear that IBrance is also good for improving overall well-being! It’s chemo but it makes you feel better! Good for you!

Hi ive just come off letroxole after 7 years and prior to that arimidex and exemerstane. I call all three "poisons" as i was having joint pains from 3 days after taking arimidex stayed on it for a year then on to exemerstane which was very slightly better, i asked if there was another one i could try and was put on letrozole for the remaining 7 years. I couldnt sleep on any of them and terrible joint pains to the point im having a hip replacement this year also both knees are starting to get bad i also have a trigger finger brought on with exemerstane but im still here thats the only reason i have suffered them all. I finished letrozole on 30th august 2019 and im just starting to sleep a lot better my hair has also gone thinner and teeth deteriorated but i am 77 in august and live on my own so i class nyself as a survivor. i was stage 2 breast cancer had lumpectomy and lymph node clearance in september 2010. All the very best to you on this awful journey xx

I am on my week off from Ibrance and I definitely feel better when taking the two meds (I take Exemestane). This my first cycle so I’m hoping my body is just adjusting.

Wonderful to hear! IBrance is chemo but it’s also good for overall well-being.

I kinda feel bad to say how well I am doing when others are struggling, but I have no difference in my off-week with Ibrance (and even a 2-week pause when my neutrophils are too low). That said, I have ongoing joint/muscle/bone pain. I already had that (for 20 years), but it is a little more elevated on these meds. Just registered for medicinal cannabis for this and to aid in my sleep... among other benefits, including keeping stress/anxiety at bay. Still, I am doing really well on these meds. (PS: I only have mets in my bones.) Hope you can get some relief from these symptoms.

Good for you...we were diagnosed at about the same time and I’m glad to hear you are doing well on IBrance. I use gabapentin to control bone and joint pain...but my pain is also linked to sciatica pain that I’ve always had...just worse now. Using Zometa for bone growth...apparently it can add to bone pain but it’s vital to restore the bone that has been destroyed by tumor. We have to be the ones who can push back against this disease and live as normal a life as possible.

I am on Zometa as well. Heard recently that some gals had/have difficulty with that, too... but I have had none. Never heard of gabapentin, but will look into it. Thanks!

I signed up for a medical cannabis card for more than just the pain (about 2 weeks ago), but knowing it takes a little while to get approved in Maryland (USA)... I am being proactive on that as well. For right now, I can make do with Tylenol most days, and I even have a prescription pain medication that I have only taken a few times since MBC diagnosis. (Was actually prescribed for breast pain, but I have taken it twice for joint/bone pain since starting Ibrance/Letrozole in late Sept.) Given my fairly minor side effects so far (and my first scans coming back to show no progression), I hope to be on these meds a long time. And, I am really, truly grateful. I so wish everyone was as lucky as me on this.

❤️

Hi! I thought it was just me...I find that IBrance and anastrozole are fine together and I feel better when I’m back on my IBrance after the break. Maybe it’s psychological...this stuff is controlling the cancer so I am glad to be on it.

You're probably feeling better in your ibrance weeks because it works. And when you are only on letrozole your white bloods cell count is low...... Because you've taken letrozole. That's why they take us off it. To let our bodies have a break.

True...when you’re on “break” you’re actually at your weakest point after the chemo. Thanks!

I have three weeks on Ibrance and one week off. Letrozole is continuous with no break. I also have Denosumab injection every month for my bones. I ache all over sometimes and have the odd headache. I have very slight hair thinning but new hair is now growing after two years. I have developed Tinnitus which can be a side affect from Ibrance. I will check it out with my Oncologist when I speak to him next week. I have metastasis in nearly all of my bones, in my skull, lungs and lymph nodes. So far I am able to do the normal day to day things in life albeit slower.

I really do hope you and your sister can comfort each other as you walk this path together. Parents are quick to blame themselves and it takes some convincing that it isn’t their fault. Mom also needs reassurance.

Take care and best wishes to you both.

I have only taken the combination of Letrozole and Ibrance so do not know how to help you with your situation. I am on a 21 days on and 7 days off regimen. Hugs Marlene
