I take max dose of ibrance (having failed on ribo) and 2.5mgs (daily) of letrozole. I am 59, work 4 days. Thankfully am able to live a full-ish life,, running our home, exercise etc.
I have experimented with the best times to take my meds , currently taking let at 18.30 and ibrance at 20.30 .
I wonder if anyone has been given any specific advice as to when to take these meds for max effect? Or does it matter? My onc advises to take as suits (with the proviso that ibrance be taken with food)
Thank you 🙏

I've tried all sorts but now I take my ibrance first thing in the morning with my other meds ( I'm no longer on letrozole) , as I kept forgetting after breakfast. I don't find it makes any difference taking it with food or not. X
Glad you are doing well on this protocol. I am on the same dosage. I take both Ibrance and Letrozole at dinner time around 6 or 6:30 p.m. sometimes 7. Best wishes for continued success.
I have been taking ibrance and letrozole for 3.5 years, I take them at suppertime (5 o'clock in atlantic canada, lol) because fatigue is a side effect for me. I had inital shrinkage of the tumor on my spine on my first 2 scans and have been stable since. Good luck with these meds, they have been fantastic for me.
I have been on Ibrance and Letrozole since January 2018 with excellent results. I take Letrozole shortly after breakfast, but I take Ibrance at bedtime. I used to take Ibrance in the morning as well, but developed extreme motion sickness. This all began on a flight to Hawaii followed by a long bus and ferry rides. I was miserable!!!
I work full time as a HS teacher and it started to make me very nauseous and uncomfortable. Simple car rides would also make me nauseous. I never bounced back but learned that being still and lying down allowed me to tolerate the Ibrance better. Likely I could return to taking the Ibrance in the morning, but why take that chance? I continue to do well. My oncologist had never heard any motion sickness reports but said as long as I found a system that worked for me, she was pleased.
Good luck - Ibrance has done wonders, and I pray it continues to do it's job for many years to come.
Hi I am sorry to hear of your situation I had bc in 2021 picked up on mammogram two different types invasive lobular and invasive ductal cancer . I had bilateral mastectomy. No spread to lymph nodes so no chemo .I take 2.5 Mg of letrozole I take it at night just before sleep .I take alendronic acid once a week and accrete d3 and calcium twice a day for my bones as letrozole can cause osteoporosis. I am 71 but I walk I do gardening and I go to weight lifting class all to stay strong and mobile . I wish you well x
I’ve been taking Ibrance after dinner as it’s easy to remember and, having read a potential side effect of Letrozole is dizziness, I take it with my other meds before bed. This regime seems to work for me.
So glad to hear you’re able to more or less live a normal life - especially as you’re so young. I’m about to turn 77 next month and also stable with help from these two drugs since 2019.
