I am wondering if anyone has gone through this procedure ...I had been coughing 4 weeks ( no fever or cold symptoms) so I went in for a scan. My needle biopsy is Monday .. I’m scared and tired of this cancer...

Getting ready for Monday CT guided / lung needle biopsy of pleural nodule that doubled in size :(
Amen, Sister! I'm so with you. I'm anticipating the same recommendation when I get seen on the 20th. But, I've also heard that the needle biopsy causes minor discomfort and can be helpful in the long run. Hoping it is so for you. In my prayers...kc
Thank you so much for your quick reply ..even though you have your challenges to deal with.. I wish I could be of help to you.. I’m comforted knowing you have actually assisted in this procedure. Yes to identify if it’s a primary lung or a breast cancer progression. Hugs ....
Hello. I have recently undergone this procedure. It was quick and almost painless. The only discomfort I felt was when I was injected with local anesthetic on the site. I was sedated too so felt nothing. When I woke up after about an hour, it was over. I was just told to lie flat on my back for about 6 hours after the procedure. Do not be afraid. The tissue samples were to check if my breast cancer had mutated or not and also for genetic profiling. Maria
Such an articulate and compassionate answer!
My thoughts and prayers are with you! 🙏 please keep us posted
I had a liver biopsy and found it very easy.....I’ll be thinking of you tomorrow!
It confirmed my previous diagnosis! Thanks.
I pray for good results for you.
Thank you Mariootsi .. I appreciate you.
I have had this procedure done and it was exactly as Sandra has described. I was so worried and it went just fine. The nurse had told me they would go through my breast and the thought of that was horrible, but it ended up to be just at the edge of the breast. The amount they remove is very small and the nurse showed me the vial. I do not think you need to stress over this procedure. It is all very controlled. The nurses were wonderful and took great care of me which was very comforting.
Thank you Sandra ❤️
It went just as you said. I told them about you and how you encourage so many of us in the same crazy terrifying MBC boat . I felt pressure and pain but just tried to remain calm and focus on my breathing pattern and breath holds.
Someone would actually would hold my hand ( a warm large handed person ) every time they made a pass. I had my face turned the other way so I could not see who it was. I felt your professional inner passion for the job right there
❤️ Up on the recovery floor I tried to focus on lying still for 3 hours ... the hospital’s fire alarm went off and I thought it was a drill until 15 minutes later it was still blaring with lights flashing, The nurses told us it was a real fire on the floor below us and that fire trucks had surrounded the area. Patients ( on the ward) were hollaring about the noise telling nurses to shut off the alarm. They made more noise than the alarm itself, I’m surprised at how rude people can be to the professionals doing their job to help us !
I was there for 5 hours because there was a delay on getting X-rays and people off the floor. The nurses work hard to get us out to the cars picking patients up to take home. I’m blessed to know you and you made all the difference for me. I even got a card from those caring for me Upon discharge.❤️❤️ I wish we could all just get away from MBC.. if you come across some path out of it ( short of demise ) I will follow you.
I got home and tried to follow directions to be still but somehow my cat got out yesterday and I had to call for him and he was trapped on a neighbors roof afraid to come down. It was his second night up there and the family didn’t tell me when I was away! My grandson ( 13 years old Boy Scout help me retrieve him). I ate some soup and took my night meds ... and shortly after felt so nauseous I could keep it down. Afterwards I was so tired and just fell asleep .
Im much better today .. a little sore but nothing compared to a mastectomy.
I hope that the biopsy is clear. I agree with you, this cancer is so frustrating on top of everything else. Please let us know how it goes.
Thank you Sarcie , I will keep you all posted
Ok so results are .. drum roll ... ( Benign normally slow growing tumor Schwannoma that in my case is growing fast and this is rarely found on pleural nodes and can become metastatic. I’m waiting for my team to figure out what to do next . I’m happy it’s not cancer and I’m thinking they are looking at a surgical removal. I appreciate all the well wishes ... I’m getting my brain ready for what comes next. With Lobular MBC being uncommon and now this rare finding I feel special but not in that sweet way .. I have to laugh 😂.
I hope you didn’t have to much discomfort with your lung biopsy. I have lung mets and bone mets so my Oncologist opted for me to have bone taken from my Pelvis for a biopsy. I really didn’t feel it thank goodness.
Keep posting.
Best wishes
Cheryl
Thank you Cheryl .. I healed quickly ! Just waiting on a game plan for the plan of action from this point. I wish the tumor was slow growing but unfortunately not . I appreciate your post. ❤️❤️❤️
