Hi

I’ve now competed all the necessary tests and have just been advised that I will be put on Elacestrant as part of the Emerald Clinical Study. I start this treatment on Thursday.

Let’s hope all goes well. I will keep you posted.

I’m relatively new but so glad to know that you are in this clinical trial you are giving us all more hope. This drug is the newest out there and I hope it has the possibility of giving you a lot more time. Really glad that the drug company has decided to go forward with the trial seems that there were some bumps in the road in the early stages. This shows that there are always new drugs on the horizon.

Hi Jo,

Wondering how your clinical trial is going?

I'm starting week three and I'm pleased to report that I currently don't have any side effects. This is the first time in a while that I have been able to sleep through the night, in addition my energy level is slowly coming back. I'm headed to the hospital Wednesday for bloodwork and an EKG, will probably not find out if this drug is working until next month.

Hi Jade

Good to hear from you.

It’s nearly three weeks since I have been on the Oral SERD. I’m feeling fine with no side effects other than my shoulder aches a little from time to time. I definitely have more energy too!

I have been instructed to take the rather large tablet at the same time each day, 30 mins after a light breakfast and then to avoid eating or lying down for at least two hours afterwards.

I’ve been told they may not really be able to tell if it is working until scans due the third week in September. That will be eight weeks after starting the meds and even then it may be a little early.

Wishing you well and please keep me posted and it’s good to be in contact with you on a similar trial.

Jo xx
