My fundraising campaign went off the scale. My target was £500 and so far I have raised £770 and everything you see in the photo is pamper stuff that's been donated. Been getting ready for my first gift drop on Thursday. OMG there has been some amazing donations. Urban Decay make up, Clarins make up and creams, all sorts. Ive had loads of treatment vouchers donated and bought the rest so I've got 36 pamper hampers to give away at the chemo unit, each with a £20 or £30 make up or holistic treatment voucher attached. How fantastic is that. People have been so generous and supportive.
Now all I need to do is figure out how I'm getting them all from the car park to the 5th floor chemo unit. Think they'll lend me a stretcher (gurney) hahaha.

That is wonderful! It is so moving to see how generous everyone has been and also how you have thrown yourself into this venture by helping out fellow cancer patients.
It's their own choice depending where the voucher is from. There's a variety of reiki, angle reiki, crystal healing, relexology, acupuncture all that sort of thing together with make up and spar type ones - indian head massage, facials, literally everything you can think of . I had a lot donated and I've bought the rest with the money I've raised.
How amazing Josie.
You have worked so hard on this, even when you weren’t feeling great yourself.
I’m sure you are going to raise lots of awareness for mbc - and some eyebrows carrying that lot in !
I certainly hope so Clare. We're a suspicious lot in Barnsley and I think I'll have to convince some of them I really don't want anything in return lol but on the whole, I'm hoping it will go down well. Someone asked me about going in the local paper with it all but I said thanks but no thanks. Lovely of them but I don't want it to turn into being about me.
Can you imagine me and our Lucy walking in with all those gift bags hahaha how funny. I'm going to see if I can rope in help from a porter or see if there's a trolley I can borrow or something . xx
What a fabulous thing to do? Well done you. I’m sure the pamper gifts will be really appreciated.
I’m a little on edge today - should get latest CT scan results tomorrow when I see an Oncologist. I say “an” Oncologist because I never know who I’m going to see ... but hey ho I’m just grateful to be on my current treatment & long may this continue.
I think when a person is doing something to help others, they cannot focus so much on their own problems and feel better overall, at least mentally, that they are helping others. Maybe that should be part of our treatment plan, devoting one or two days a month to volunteering or making a difference in somebody else's life. Inspiring!
absolutely wonderful what you are doing! beautiful pic of you as well <3 xo God bless you and heal you from the top of your head to the soles of your feet as you spread His love and hope in Jesus name, amen! Kind of off the subject but on the subject of giving, our pastor was saying how when he and his wife go out for a meal, they tip 100%, and the waiters and waitresses are overwhelmed by such a show of love. we just see it as money, the world sees it as LOVE, like with your gifts!
Great work Mindysooty! I’m sure this is a tremendous joy to the givers of this charity. So glad you can bring a smile & hope to so many! I know it must help you too! Thank you for your kindness & hard work to help others when you yourself are suffering from all that comes with MBC! 💞🥰😊!
It's true, this project has given me a lot too. It's shown me how wonderful and supportive the people around me are and I'm really looking forward to giving out the freebies on Thursday. It's a lovely warm and positive feeling. THat has to be good for me doesn't it. X
Thankyou for your kind words. Had another big donation yesterday so total raised so far now stands at £895 + all the gifts donated. People are amazing arent they. Restores your faith. Xx
