Hi!

My chemo was Perjetta every 3 weeks. Stage 4 with bone mets. Last July at age 45...

I was afraid to start chemo as well. I think we all are. My suggestion would be to use a very bland diet to start. Take extra Iron and B12 to give u energy. Drink plenty of water and exercise as much as possible. Oh and no refined sugar...which is hard but doable once it becomes your new habit...You can do this! It's just hard to wrap your head around it all at first...

-Blessings!

I initially had chemo of Taxotere, Herceptin and Perjeta one day a week for a little over 12 weeks. I would drink plenty of water during the 4-5 hour chemo session and would walk daily. I think that was helpful. I also kept my Immodium close by and used biotene regularly for dry mouth. I did not start loosing my hair until after the third round of chemo. I opted to shave my head at that time. It was not as traumatic as I thought it would be. I found a cute wig and had many fun hats! I also met many new friends during those chemo sessions. I wish you all the best with your treatments. Caroline

I'm happy that you were okay with losing your hair. Losing my hair was upsetting to me but it growing back now. It is a different color and straighter in the top and more curly in the back. I do not like wearing false eyelashes, and did not wear them when I lost my eyelashes. I am thankful for life but that part of chemo was very difficult for me, but I am nonetheless thankful for life.
