So today I am going to have an operation to remove the fluid from my lungs. My surgeon has said that it is unusual to have fluid on both so he will drain the fluid from the left lung and repair the right. I am desperate to start Taxol this coming Thursday so I really hope there are no complications

I came home tonight, it’s so good to be able to walk up the stairs without getting out of breath!.
I see my consultant on weds and they’ve booked me in to start my chemo on Thursday. I’m sure I’ll feel so much better once I feel like I’m starting to kill the cells.
You will definitely start to feel better in your head when you have treatment. Good luck with it, and keep us posted.
I’m not sure about my fluid returning. My nurse and I think it does come back, but not to the degree it did before treatment. I can tell when I get a certain pain in my side. I have bone Mets around about the same area, so it can be a little hard to differentiate. If Itake a deep breath I can feel a creak - it’s called pleural rub, and that’s when I know I have extra fluid. Thankfully though it comes and goes, and really doesn’t bother me much at all. I can continue as normal with it. Certainly nothing like before diagnosis.
