I had the video consult with my oncologist and she showed me the latest Scan and we compared to the last one.
The lymphnodes have increased in size, but minimal. Some fluid as well. Also minimal.
My onc suggested Faslodex as the next line (she is aware I will not do IV chemo again), but I had the option, and it was my choice, to stay on Ibrance till my next scan in November as the progression is minimal and very slow growing.
She had not heard about Ibrance being successful again after a 6 week break. She asked if I had read a study, which I hadn't, but will search for it. If you have read one, please let me know.
So for the next few months, I stay on Ibrance/Letrozole, be 100% compliant on a strict whole food plant based, no oil, no salt no sugar diet, back to daily excercise (especially rebounding for the lymphatic system) and mindfulness activities.
I felt a bit more optimistic after the consult as my oncologist was positive, and I am now getting ready to watch some videos of Joe Dispenza and read his books. Also will read Jane McLelland and Nasha Winters books. With this pandemic there is plenty of reading time. I have accepted this minimal progression as a challenge. Let's see if I can reverse it or halt the growth. Everything to gain, nothing to lose.
I know for all of us, this is how the rest of our lives look like; we live from scan to scan. I have accepted that now and will stay positive. I have much to live for. I will not let fear, anxiety or anger control me, and with God's help I can live a good life for some time to come.
May we all live long enough to see a cure to cancer.
I'm sorry about the issue but definitely applaud your efforts to try to hold things at bay/beat them back a bit through the changes you note!!
I'm in the exact same mode right now and seem to be having some success with it, but taking it month by month. I'll be very curious (and hopeful!) to see how you do...You can look at my recent "I did it" post that shows the improvement in my tumor markers and alkaline phosphatase (sp?) over the past 2 months or so.
You don't mention these two elements, but in addition to plant-based diet and pretty intense exercise, I'm also doing intermittent fasting, D3/K2, and sunshine (activates T-cell/immune system).
Good luck with it, I'll be eager to read your updates, and I wish like hell that someone would do a study on the effect of things like this in combination!!
Best,
Lynn

Thanks Lynn! I started following you and will msg you as well.
My onc doesn't put much relevance on markers . My alkaline phosphate was 121 on the last test. All my organs are healthy thank God. It's my lungs and lymphnodes.
I also am back on intermittent fasting (14 hours) and take 5,000 iu D3 daily. I may increase it to 10,000. It's too hot here in southern California to be outside in the sun as we're starting a heatwave.
The total lack of peer reviewed double blind trials on the combination of wfpb diet plus conventional treatment has always puzzled me (to say it mildly). A miracle cure would be nice, but blocking certain cancer pathways through this combination seems more realistic.
I'll msg you❤️
Anja
Anja, I found the study. It was in a lab/test tube, not humans, but Dana Farber announced it so I'm assuming it's credible within that limited environment/circumstance.
I do wonder if anyone is doing a clinical study...Some folks might be able to get their docs to allow them to try this?
I'll look for more info on this...
I think something similar can be accomplished by doing Verzenio (also a CDK 4/6 (?) inhibitor) as a treatment in the future, e.g. might be best not to do Verzenio immediately following Ibrance but sequence a different treatment first/in between? This is part of my future treatment plan...I'll do two treatments between Ibrance failing (prob soon) and Verzenio.
But this still feels like a compromise, i.e. why not be able to do both? Reset Ibrance, ride that out a bit longer, and still be able to get the benefit of Verzenio...
I was on Ibrance and then when there were complications from it (after three months), I was then put on Verzenio which, for me, I preferred so much over the Ibrance, but I did not know at that time as it was the beginning of treatment for me that the dosage could have been lowered but I am happier and not as tired on the LOWEST dose of Verzenio (50 mgs. twice per day with no breaks).
Hi Anja- I have recently come out of a negative period and committed to nutrition and exercise. I have found that regardless of the effect on the tumors— these life style things help me feel better— like I have some small amount of control over this. Keep us updated on your progress!
Thanks Sandra! We're all in the same boat, yet we row with different oars and not a single one is wrong!! It's a body/mind disease and we do what feels the right thing to do. To all of us, I wish many, many more years doing what we love! Many hugs.
