Blood clots

Went to hematologist yesterday after diagnosed 7-3 with multiple blood clots in both lungs was on lovenox shots twice a day now starting Eliquis pills today. Anyone taking this any problems? Dr said I will take it forever. Thanks I feel great would never know I have MBC and blood clots just a blip in the road🌞

I was on Lovenox shots twice a day until my oncologist/hematologist switched me to oral Pradaxa. So much easier and no food restrictions, plus there's an anti-dote in case of bleeding.i had a subclavian DVT, and mets to lungs and lymphnodes. Lifer on Pradaxa.

I’m on Xorelto (similar to Eliquis) due to a heredity propensity for clots. I’ve had 2 DVTs. If you are in the US and on regular insurance, not Medicare, you can get copay assistance from the pharmaceutical company with no income restrictions.

I've been on Eliquis for about 1 1/2 years, and my cardiologist also has me wearing 15/20 support hose (knee high). The hose is more of a pain in the rear than the Eliquis! I do bruise more and I tend to bleed a little now when I have a needle poke of any kind, but not enough to be a problem. But the hose make getting dressed more of a chore. I'm currently wearing them over footlets or whatever the sox that don't go above the ankle are called. I have other other foot issues and have to wear Rx orthotics and larger shoes than before........ My trip to needing Eliquis is crazy! In year 12 of my 15 years living with mbc, I was on Ibrance for a few cycles, and it damaged my lungs, which caused atrial fibrillation which is why I am now on Eliquis and wearing support hose, to reduce risk of stroke which scares me much more than this cancer does! My father had a major stroke about a year after my mother died from lung cancer, and it didn't take very long for my brother and me to realize that our mother got the better deal. Both of our grandfathers had strokes, too. Anyway, I've had no trouble with Eliquis. I take it twice a day, usually after breakfast and at bedtime.
