Just a few days ago someone wrote about taking the supplements of Claritin, aspirin, and curcumin. Where did you get the information that these would be helpful? What dosage do you take? My onc isn't on board with curcumin, but I'm willing to talk with her again. It's the first I've heard of Claritin and aspirin. I don't participate much (I live out of state 3 weeks a month taking care of my elderly father and then come home for a week to touch base with my family and have my treatments), but just knowing you all are "out there" means the world to me. So wonderful to know I can come anytime for solid advice and, more importantly, for solid and real caring.

Claritin + Aspirin + Curcumin
Hi
Yes I am interested but a little sceptical ,I am going to ask my oncologist. I will then do whatever he recommend, Just not brave enough 😉x
Hi there
I take these...I asked my oncologist ages ago and she’s happy for me to take them...I’m on Ibrance letrazole combo
Whether they help with anything...who knows...I’ve taken aspirin for decades as a migraine prophylaxis and curcumin for back pain prior to diagnosis so apart from the Claritin I’ve not really taken them specifically for mbc

Here's an article re: Claritin (which is, apparently, loratadine):

Here's one re: aspirin

Curcumin is widely discussed/researched, so I did not google that.
My intérest was also piqued because I recently joined a study of extreme survivors ("outliers") and they asked relatively few lifestyle questions, but among the few were questions re: curcumin and aspirin intake.
Hope that helps!
Thanks Lynn, that is so interesting. Would Quercetin possibly have the same effect? Why do we see it so often as beneficial for cancer survival?
healthline.com/health/aller... . Yup, it is included in the best natural antihistamines. Along with Stinging nettle and Bromelain
I remember reading about claritin for easing pain in 2013, when I was first diagnosed with breast cancer. I had a lumpectomy and rads. I take it for my allergies but buy the generic, lordatadine or something very close to that spelling; I also take ginger root powder and metformin for my diabetes. The ginger root powder took away all my pain and only occasionally have to take a pain pill or aspirin, maybe once every two weeks? Ginger root powder also took away my hot flashes, praise the Lord! I take 3 capsules in the morning and was taking 3 in the afternoon, but once I started the ibrance, it was too much for my tummy. I take ibrance and letrozole for my mbc, diagnosed in 2019, highly suspected in 2018 but biopsy done the next year. I am developing a cough from the ibrance and got really sick last week, took 3 days off and now back on it. I MacGyver my meds, shame on me, I know, I take five days and off two, but take letrozole everyday. My onc knows, he said <wink wink> when I told him. I am almost compliant with COC protocols as well I'm learning <grin> God bless you and heal us all in Jesus name, amen!
I've not heard about this particular trio, but my former primary care doctor (she moved away) suggested I use curcumin (aka turmeric), tart cherry juice, fish oil and glucosamine/chondrotin to reduce inflammtion. The last few bc conferences I have attended had several onc speakers mention cancer as an inflammatory process. I don't remember to take these every day, sometimes not even every week, but when I started with just the curcumin and a cup of tart cherry juice a day, I saw noticably less swelling in the ankle that I'd broken a few months before (not cancer related).
