My mum just got her ct scan results her oncologist rang her earlier and said he wants to see her this week instead of next there is small illusions on liver .. rest of her scan is fine and the small met in her spine is also fine. But obviously ibrance and letrozole isn’t working so he wants to talk about going down the road of proper chemo I am beyond devastated anything like this happened to anyone else? Xx

Ibrance not working
There are women on this site
Hi Nat
I’m on Ibrance letrazole combo which is working on bone mets...however I have a liver lesion which has grown so obviously that’s not responding to the treatment
However my oncologist is reluctant to change medication so I’m having SABR radiotherapy on the liver lesion and hopefully that will kill that
I would question the proposed treatment or ask for another opinion as there are other hormone treatments out there...obviously I’m not a doctor but from what I’ve learned on this site it appears that most ladies have several combinations before going onto chemotherapy
But maybe that’s the treatment your mum will benefit from but if it was me...I would ask for a detailed explanation

Yea this is what I mean I don’t understand why he would jump straight to that I’m so confused and upset by this why oh why? Her small met in her spine is fine and no other spread anywhere else
I understand how you’re upset
Don’t dwell on it...ring up and ask to speak to him or have an appointment...you need answers...my oncologist gave me her mobile number to contact her if worried..I haven’t so far rang her but would do so if I was concerned

Are you from the US? We’re from the UK I hate the way they work things here you have to wait for results and stuff for like 2 weeks I suppose that’s why we have free healthcare. Oncologist’s aren’t as flexible here it’s always the waiting around game. I mean he didn’t rule out anything he just mentioned proper chemo but I am gonna ask questions I’ve been screen shotting stuff off this website to ask and or to him xx
I’m in the UK...Nottingham....we have private healthcare but I don’t really think it makes a difference in the treatment..I’m just seen in a different hospital that’s all...she’s an NHS consultant but sees private patients at a different place
Do get in touch with him and don’t be afraid to ask questions..I think we all get a bit overwhelmed by consultants but they’re doing a job the same as anyone else and should answer queries as part of it
Hope this helps
All the best
