This all terrifies me as I recovered from APL leukemia only to have breast cancer return four months later. I've been on faslodex, xgeva, and ibrance since November of 2019. Counts were ok until April when my cancer markers started slowly rising. I had a UTI, so oncologist was not too worried. This lab showed that my cancer markers are at 134, nearly doubled. And my WBC count is at 2. Neuts at .8. I am really scared.

My cancer markers have been slowly rising for the last 3 months, but this lab showed they've doubled. My wbc counts and neuts are 2 and.8
I am so disappointed for you. I can appreciate how frightening this trend is. Please know that we on this message board are here for you. What does your onc say?
Hi there
This happened to me...I had a sharp rise in markers but after a vertebraplasty procedure so my oncologist said it was probably due to that
They steadily increased over the next six months but nothing showed on scan..however the last scan showed a liver nodule increasing in size so that’s why there was a rise in markers..very disappointing as my bone mets were healing on Ibrance letrazole combo
I’m now waiting for results of pet scan to see if this lesion can be irradiated
However increased markers don’t always mean there’s something wrong as were all different...some ladies with disease progression have low markers which never change...in my opinion they just caused unnecessary worries
I hope your increase is nothing to do with progression...many oncologists don’t even use them
In my case they did signify something was wrong but it was picked up on the scan anyway
All the best
Barb xx
This is all terrifying but we need to depend on our oncs to sift through the ups and downs and come up with various plans suited to our needs.
I wish you well in this part of your journey which we all know is a rollercoaster.
I hate rollercoasters. Lol. I always have!
