Hello Tm7777,
Similar position to yourself. 2002 ER+ Stage I: 2016 Stage IV. Extensive radiotherapy. Bone mets to spine and liver which occurred before/during 4 wasted months of oral chemotherapy, xeloda/ cyclophosphamide. Followed by 2 infusions of Gemzar which body rejected. Am now on Taxol. For each stage there is something to throw at it
Inner strength and knowledge on how to cope with constant setbacks is what keeps us going. Medical teams can only do what they do, the rest is up to us. There are minefields of information available and misinformation comes from all areas frequently. Always question the Oncologist's decision if you are uncomfortable with his choice and be a Diva if you have to be.
Don't know if the above helps. All the best, Patricia
They have me on letrozal and ibrance which had to be lowered it was making me sick. I had 30 Radation treatments. Now have a issue with shoulder blade pain and receiving xcheva injections monthly it's been 3 months if treatments so far.
Hello Tm7777,
Each treatment is tailored to each person so I wish you well with yours
Our bodies surprise us by their resilience. When something weakens, something else might compensate. It's a long road at whatever Stage. Keep posting. I find people "outside, looking in", including medics, will not know how this life in the clutch if cancer really affects us, both mentally and physically.
All the best,

Hi Tm7777. I was diagnosed with Stage 2 in 2012. I had a very teeny lobular Cancer in my left Breast. Chemo was not recommended, but I had a Lumpectomy and radiation. 1 1/2 years later my ribs and back were killing me. A biopsy showed metastisis to spine, ribs, and pelvis. I believe that the BC had metastisized way before it was found. No bone scan was done on me prior to surgery and I think that was a mistake. Can't go back to that now. I'm ER+ but the hormone treatments didn't work for me....Tamoxifen, Arimidex, Faslodex. So now I'm on oral chemo pills, Xeloda, plus am getting Zometa infusions once a month to strengthen my bones. It's like Xgeva. I'm doing okay though I do have bone pain especially in my spine. Seems I have trouble walking nice and straight without hurting. Skeletal x-Rays show that I'm not in danger of fractures at this point. So, there's hope. I take Ibuprophen and also use Voltaren cream on my sore areas. I put Lidocaine patches off/on when the pain is more than I like. I'm wishing you well. We're in the same boat with lots of others. I was told that my prognosis is "unknown." The doctors are not Gods. Plus there are new treatments coming out all the time. I meditate and visualize that I'm healthy. It helps a lot. Have courage. Good luck!
I myself it took 1 and a half for diagnosis. Every doc just thought I was wining , looking for pain meds., needed a therapist. If it was not for me doing something I wasn't suppose to be doing the tumor I have in my chest would not have popped out then they freaked out made me go for cat scan immediately within hours was on my way to oncologist. My spine is pretty bad , they gave me 30 radation therapy because of tumors on spine and possible fractures to my bones they are pretty bad. I am getting xgevia shots monthly. My prognosis is unknown it will be a year before any one will be able to tell... I keep going every day!!!
Tm7777,
How are you doing now? What treatment plan are you on? Did the Xgeva shots help strengthen your bones? I’m on Zometa infusions and they do help with the bone pain. Keep us posted. Kats2
