Anyone else suffer from migraines?

I have had RLS as long as I can remember but didn't know it was an actual condition until recently! For the last 10 years I have had migraines too and they have been chronic for the last 2 years. I just wondered if there was a link and if anyone else suffered from both.

hi Alfie, i have both, RLS since i was 19,(63 now), and ive had migraine for around 20 years, the one with they "aura" as its called, kind of a warning distorted , flickering of my vision, if i take a pill straight away, im usually ok in an hour, if not it can last for a few days. I do know of lots of people that have both

I used to have a lot of migraines, especially as a child. I think there may well be a link but I also think there may be a link between RLS and back problems too.... I have a medication always with me for migraines and I rarely start with any symptoms for a long time now so have no need to take them but I am relieved to know that i have this med to use in case. My RLS symptoms have deceased with age too. I appear to be in the minority with this as most say the symptoms get worse with age. I am 61 years old.

Wow! i suffer from both and never thought they were linked, althogh it makes sense if RLS is to do with a lack of dopamine. Im going to the doctor soon as i haven't been diagnosed yet with RLS but will bring up migraines and get back to this post with (hopefully) an answer.

Hi Alfie,

I'm 19 and have suffered from migraines since I was 11 missing 3years of school. I am now under the care of a neurologist and he asked me about my legs and how they feel. I told him and he said I had RLS and with his experience the two illnesses are very closely linked.
