Does anyone else suffer from fibromyalgia and / or ADHD too? I've read that both can be associated with RLS but was wondering just how common it actually is?

Does anyone else suffer from fibromyalgia and / or ADHD too?
hi, Lots of people have rls and fibro that im aware of, but im not sure about ADHD, but i havent heard of a connection there
There are dedicated Forums to both. Fibromyalgia can become worse during peri-menopause. Several ladies on the MM Forum discuss this condition. ADHD ...... I am sure that if you begin with the NAS web-site you will find Links etc..
What do you take for these conditions?
Thanks both The reason I ask is that I've read that all 3 can often be related to low dopamine levels, and that certainly sounds plausible in my case.
Hi Heath,
I have had Fybromyalgia for years. I also have restless legs and other sleep disorders and have bi-polar, which is related to ADHD. It's no wonder I'm a bit nutty at times. I guess when they were handing out disorders at birth, I was just greedy. Will now be going to research how to increase my ' Dopa ' levels.
I have also had one Dr tell me I had fybromyalgia but my current Dr doesn't think so, I personally think I have it sometimes worse than others
Hi Patsy, that's the exact nature of the beast. Some morning I would have to ease myself out of bed and try to straighten up as I walked across the bedroom floor, nearly hunched right over. I looked and felt like the tin man that needed oiling. That would be followed by pain in all my muscles, all day, particularly going up and down stairs or getting out of a low chair. My children would laugh at me trying to straighten up.
Theses episodes would last about three months at a time but there was no patter to them.
I've just started a sleep and symptoms diary, more for myself as my Doc diagnosed me with Fybro years ago.BUT what he did not tell me about were, apart from the muscle pain, that there were many more symptoms to Fybro. Doing my own research on the wonderful internet I found out that my jaw clenching, Bruxism, my RLS, frequent nocturnal trips to the loo, and other sleep problems were all under the Fibro hat.
I felt elated. I gathered my ex- husband and children around the computer and said look !
I'm not going mad. That's what I've got. Didn't get me any more sympathy though. Today I accept that if I do not have an ache or a pain somewhere that there is something seriously
wrong with me. Just like you I have days when I ache everywhere and others when just a bit of pain here and there.
Hi. I have fibromyalgia and rls. I have suffered from rls a lot longer than I've had fibro, but I think it got worse after developing the fibro. Originally I only had the rls in my legs, then during pregnancy it started affecting my arms as well, but only while I was pregnant. After getting fibro though, it became arms, legs, and muscles across the back of my shoulders. I know it is recognised as a problem associated with fibromyalgia, but don't know about ADHD.
I have had fibro for the last six years. Was using BuTrans patches and have recently been taken off them and now my RLS has returned with a vengance. Had forgotten how bad it is. I'm now on Tramadol for the Fibro but it's not helping with the RLS. Never heard of ADHD associated with Fibro either.
