Yes, Sue, that's approximately correct. I stopped taking pramipexole at the beginning of October and then started on 25 mg of pregabalin. I continued with 3 x 10 mg of morphine sulfate, which I had been taking while tapering off pramipexole. I stopped the morphine around October 20, as I suspected it might have caused a TIA, and I’ve since slowly increased the pregabalin to 300 mg.

I have an appointment with my doctor next week, and I’ll try to discuss with her what I should do. But she doesn’t know anything about medication for RLS or augmentation—no one in Denmark does!!

It’s unbearable not to get more than 3-4 hours of sleep. Buprenorphine, as you suggest, Joolsg (thanks!)—oh dear, she’s likely to balk at it, but it’s worth a try! I have such a sweet and capable daughter who’s good at advocating for me if I need help.

If it’s approved, should I still take pregabalin at the same time?

Big thanks !

If you get buprenorphine you won't need the pregabalin. But you need to do so very slowly to avoid withdrawal effects. Reduce by 25 mg every 2 weeks. If you do so you will have very few or no withdrawal effects. If you do have any, slow down even further, In very very rare cases you still might have withdrawal effects.

No. If you get Buprenorphine, it will cover your RLS completely so you won't need pregabalin. But reduce it very slowly to avoid withdrawal symptoms.

So you (and Sue) are saying reduce the pregabalin very slowly to avoid pregabalin withdrawal?

Guess I'll have to get a smaller dose of it then. I have scrips for 75mg and 150mg currently, and they're capsules with (I think) powder in them, not easily divided up. If I go this same route, which seems likely as I'm now taking buprenorphine and pregabalin both, I'll want to have a 25mg scrip on hand as well, yes?

Yes. I was on 150mg pregabalin and asked for 100mg and 2 x 25mg pills. Then 4 x 25mg pills.
