Hi everyone and Sue Johnson. I'm wondering if Horizant is the same as Pregabalin? I guess it is a stronger version of gabapentin. I have tried it and it seems to work pretty good for me.

Horizant
That's great that it is working for you. It's basically a 24 hour version of gabapentin. Take it at 5:00 pm with food because the bioavailability is greatly increased depending on the meal's fat content.
You don't have to pay the list price. How much are you paying for it?
So far I was only give samples of it. Is it similar to pregabalin in strength? I will soon find out how much it will cost. I was assuming it would be covered by my medicare and supplemental SCAN insurance. Thank you for your response. I don't like the idea of 24 hours actually because I only need this at night. Thanks for the recommendation of time to take it.
I also am wondering, Sue, if I cannot take magnesium glycerinate or citrate within 3 hours of the Horizant?
Medicare won't pay for it and I doubt if your supplemental insurance will. It is very expensive and since you don't need it 24 hours I would try gabapentin or pregabalin as suggested previously. It is not surprising that 100 and 200 gabapentin didn't work especially when you were taking magnesium at the same time. Both are very cheap. The usual effective dose is 1200 to1800 mg gabapentin. Look at my previous reply on how to take it and increase it.
