Three weeks ago I stopped (after tapering slowly) gabapentin. I have also been reducing morphine sulphate from 8mg by .01mL every 5 days for the last three weeks. PLMD off the charts. I take 2mg lunesta every 3 nights -- and not more -- in the hopes of not getting addicted. Those nights are better but far from good. Once in a while--maybe every week or 10 days--I take 7.5 mg valium, which does help, although I hesitate to take more because of building up tolerance and not wanting, yet once again, to wean off a benzo. Question is to what degree are these 2 withdrawals, plus the lunesta (maybe) contributing to the terrible PLMDs? The other bad news is the various ways that used to help ward off the PLMD for several hours (shaking legs, distraction, hot shower/bath, eating) are not working. Walking around for 10 minutes helps but maybe for an hour if that.
I was/am tempted to reintroduce pregabalin to see if it might help, although 10 months ago or so it started making me nervous?
Comments, thoughts appreciated.

I take 2 mg Lunesta every night. I am not worried about addiction. Since both morphine and gabapentin help PLMD reducing these are probably the problem. I don't think lunesta is.
Thanks. I'll try Lunesta again, but before it only seemed to work one night and then the next not so much so I have been giving my body a rest in between, as well as for the concern that I would have one more drug that would be a miserable withdrawal. That would be truly wonderful if I could do that with any success, although it does give me a hangover but I have to come accept these hangovers as part of "our" lives.
