Third go around trying trazadone for chronic depression and sleep. Never made it past a few days the first two attempts after severe headaches. This time around I titrated from near nothing up to 50mg. Unfortunately at 50mg trazadone sets my RLS ablaze. It's always been touted as a "safe" antidepressant for those of us with RLS. After my experience recenty, I scoured the interwebs and found plenty of anecdotal evidence from users with a similar experience. I did also find users who did not experience an increase in RLS symptoms. More disappointed than surprised. We all respond differently to medications so I get it. I just didnt expect for it to be one of the worst antidepressants for my RLS that I've tried. I hope it works well for others. For me the quest continues.

Trouble with trazadone
You might want to try tianeptine (Stablon, Coaxil). If so let us know how it goes.
DesertOasis also reported RLS symptoms got worse on 50mg of trazodone (Molipaxin, Desyrel, Trittico) which only stopped after she came off:
Doesn’t seem to bother me. I take with my CBD. It does help me go to sleep.
I am so so sorry to hear that ... for me, I take 150mg Trazadone nightly and it helps with depression and does not "kick off" my RLS - but it is certainly good to learn from you that it is not the miracle that I thought it was. Good luck with finding something that suits you - both depression and RLS are horrible things to have. x
my mom was very dizzy on it too, unfortunately, to the point of nearly falling, so for now she had to quit it. Cymbalta did help with depression, but RLS was intense.
Unfortunately trazodone gives me severe nasal stuffiness which certainly doesn’t help me sleep lol.
I have ALWAYS had severe RLS symptoms with any anticholinergic (dries you up) medication, like this or the obvious ones like Benadryl.
I take 200mg of trazodone at bedtime, for depression and insomnia. It seems to help with both with no significant side-effects. It's so frustrating that all of these medications affect us each so differently. My doctor was willing to prescribe trazodone, after I supplied her with some documentation about RLS and medication. However, I'm not sure she would be willing to experiment with different meds until we found the right solution for me. It's sad really that I feel grateful she listened to me at all regarding my RLS.
Welcome to the forum: please see this Pinned post linked below about completing your profile, and please also note the section within that Post about Augmentation. Most RLS sufferers on dopamine agonists such as pramipexole eventually experience this:

LOL - who are you welcoming to the forum?😀
Ziggypiggy it sounds as though you have tried a number of different antidepressants. About 2 years ago, I tried transcranial magnetic stimulation for my PLMD. Most of the people in the clinic were being treated for depression. I understand it can be very effective for intractable depression.
I tried that several years sgo. No luck. Thanks for the suggestion though.
Please DON'T suggest pramipexole to people on this blog. It is lethal. Just wait til you augment!
