Here's what works for me... I've been able to manage (pain and discomfort) RLS a couple different ways..In the beginning I used requip and Ultram until Ultram because a so called problem drug(I never had any issues with it)
I used it for a couple of years before requip became available and then used in conjunction with requip..
I continued using both for several years..
At this point I was talking 6mg of requip and anywhere between 300-600mg Ultram
At the age of 65 I had open heart surgery to replace a valve..after that I began having breathing issues so I spent the next few months in and out of the hospital.. while I was there..unbeknownst to me.. my Dr. started weaning me off of Ultram..
After being in a coma for a few weeks when I woke up my body chemistry had shifted... now along with Lyrica that I take for my neuropathy.. I only have 1mg of requip per day...now this other thing I do (and trust me I know how this sounds) I put a bar of lavender soap under the fitted sheet at the foot of the bed...I didn't believe it either but I swear it works..I sleep peacefully...
I reside in a retirement home and because of covid and my own lung problems I've had to hide from the world.. so I live in a room where I spend the majority of my time lying in a bed.. and as we all know spending time in bed for long periods is hard to do when you have RLS but I swear I don't suffer... the bar soap works.
If you have questions..I do check in periodically..
