Here's what works for me... I've been able to manage (pain and discomfort) RLS a couple different ways..In the beginning I used requip and Ultram until Ultram because a so called problem drug(I never had any issues with it)

I used it for a couple of years before requip became available and then used in conjunction with requip..

I continued using both for several years..

At this point I was talking 6mg of requip and anywhere between 300-600mg Ultram

At the age of 65 I had open heart surgery to replace a valve..after that I began having breathing issues so I spent the next few months in and out of the hospital.. while I was there..unbeknownst to me.. my Dr. started weaning me off of Ultram..

After being in a coma for a few weeks when I woke up my body chemistry had shifted... now along with Lyrica that I take for my neuropathy.. I only have 1mg of requip per day...now this other thing I do (and trust me I know how this sounds) I put a bar of lavender soap under the fitted sheet at the foot of the bed...I didn't believe it either but I swear it works..I sleep peacefully...

I reside in a retirement home and because of covid and my own lung problems I've had to hide from the world.. so I live in a room where I spend the majority of my time lying in a bed.. and as we all know spending time in bed for long periods is hard to do when you have RLS but I swear I don't suffer... the bar soap works.

If you have questions..I do check in periodically..

I've never used ropinirole, pregabalin or tramadol so will leave others to comment on these. But my grandmother swore by lavender filled pillows and pads to aid restful sleep.

"Dr. Lin says just breathing in the fragrance of a lavender blossom provides big benefits."

That's great that you have found something that works for you. Others have reported relief using a bar of soap. I sure wonder how it works. And it is good that you are down to 1 mg of requip. 6 mg is 1-1/2 times the maximum dose. Just be aware of signs of augmentation.

They must be slipping opioids in your mashed potatoes! Lol. Best luck!

I haven't heard the soap treatment in awhile - glad it works for you. So, how could that even work? A hypothesis is offered that perhaps the scent sets off transient receptor potential (TRP) channels. Here is an article with lots of links to additional RLS info I have never seen. Do read the comments...
