The solution to curing RLS forever

A neighbour rang me today and said she had come across a cure for rls that guaranteed to work. OMG I thought is this it? No more jangly legs.

She began by saying that you have to stick a bar of pure lavender soap.......well I didn’t quite know what was coming next and so I stifled a giggle and she continued - under your pillow when you go to bed and that this will get rid of rls forever.

I resisted the urge to tell her exactly where to stick her soap, thanked her for letting me know and said my goodbyes.

If only it was that easy........

I hope you kept a straight face during the conversation.

Well thats a new place to stick it. Normally you stick it under your bottom sheet. So maybe everyone has been placing it wrong all these years and i MEAN years as the soap "cure" has been around for seems for ever. :P

Wait until a Dr suggests it, it wont be so funny then!!!!

A doctor did suggest it to me. He was perfectly serious.

Unfortunately you are not the only one. How can an educated person believe such nonsense?!

I don't know if I should laugh or cry....

A lot of educated people believe that England will win the World Cup again one day.😂

My Dad always said that there are plenty of highly educated idiots in the world.

At the time, I thought this expression was an oxymoron.

Is it any more nonsense than it's all in your head?

No more stupid than a registrar at our A&E telling me that the pain in my stomach was due to my restless legs!!!

You should have told him you had just developed a pain in the ass!

OMG, thank you for this, I realise now why it hasn't worked for me, I've not been using LAVENDER soap, I thought any scent would do.

Not only that, but I didn't know you had to use it as an enema!

I wonder if Kaarina will delete me?

Well, like we all haven’t heard that one before, a hundred times!

Honestly what’s wrong with folk, why do non sufferers all consider themselves experts on an illness they clearly know nothing about!

I wish I had a £ for every stupid uninformed suggestion I have ever received.

I could write a book on these silly comments.

Shoot me now please or give me a bar of lavender soap, that’ll fix it 🤯

OK, honest up - how many have tried it? Ha - I did! Geeze, I would have burned a frog on a moonless night if it would help!

in reply toDicCarlson

Yep this hand is up for having tried it. Because you never know.! I used to say many years ago on a previous RLS group, that i would run around in the dark naked in the snow if it worked. ( note i said in the dark, wouldnt want to scare the neighbours ) :)

Forgive me for being sceptical. I'm going to stick with my copper bracelet.

For some people this helps, so why not give it a try. But probably only for mild symptoms.
