There are many past postings on this topic, sometimes weekly, but unfortunately going by replies, very few RLS sufferers find any benefit at all from the bar of soap under the sheet.

No harm in trying though, one can always use the soap in the bathroom. :)

There is no science behind this, that i can promise. But, as has been said, cannot hurt to try. I did years ago. Did not do a thing.

Hi Hudson,

Amitriptyline is one of the medications to avoid for the vast majority of RLS sufferers as it makes symptoms much worse . You may well be in the minority but if your RLS is worsening perhaps you should come off the amitriptyline and try something else....

I now remember that I have had a conversation with you regarding amitriptyline in another posting.

I tried the bar of soap and it didn't help me at all. I just can't figure out how it can help and thought it a bit strange but tried it anyway but with no results. Percocet helps me the best and I have tried almost all the meds for RLS over the past 30 years

What's to lose? Why not try everything presented here? REALLY ! What do we have to lose - our RLS?

I AM trying the soap bit. Also apple cider vinegar, honey, water 3x daily. All kinds of vitamins, minerals. Tried pantyhose. Mirapex has worked, mostly, for 20 years - but maybe it's also killing me. I don't really need to know how something works. (And I'm an engineer!!) These suggestions are offered here by honest (and desperate) folks who are also suffering! I will go on the opinions of others and MAYBE just MAYBE, they know something that I don't. This is often how new discoveries are made. Nothing is nonsense! I met a woman on the street last week and she mentioned the vinegar for her RLS - so what's the harm. AND maybe it is working -- or maybe it's the placebo effect. I DON'T CARE - IF just maybe IT WORKS. AND maybe only for a week, a month, or a year. One day at a time here. 23 years in AA and my recovery is maybe not your recovery -- or maybe it is just a little bit.

Let's all welcome EVERY suggestion (and EVERY fellow sufferer) and each try what they wish. MAYBE just MAYBE there is a little miracle waiting for us.

I did try this too but sadly for me no joy! Am fortunate at the moment that Pramipexole and codeine are working for me at night.
