Be extremely careful of Kratom. It helped me RLS enormously but I needed to increase the amount constantly to get RLS relief. Eventually I needed help withdrawing from the kratom. Several drug counselors told me it’s highly addictive which I second as it took me a hellish five days to withdraw while still going nuts with RLS. Kratom is dangerous!

I agree kratom is dangerous. It was wonderful at first. But like everything else eventually you build a tolerance and it stops working. It would also trigger my RLS if I didn't take it at a certain time. If you think your RLS is rough now it gets 10X worse when your trying to come off it. My original thought was this has to be better than taking all the other garbage they prescribe. Maybe it is maybe it's not. It's all dangerous and eventually it makes your symptoms worse.
I have taken kratom for over 8 years. It works so well for pain. I take it and then I don't take it for a while. I've never had any problem withdrawing from it. So I guess it's up to the individual. It's been a godsend for me. I was able to stop taking pain medications. Kratom works much better than they do.❤️❤️❤️❤️
I agree Camry, that Kratom, like any chemical, must be taken with caution. However, there are ways to mitigate the danger.
I've taken it for several years but limit myself to take it at most 3 days/week and never more than a teaspoon dose each day. I only take it on bad days when my RLS is acting up in the afternoon or morning. Alternating between kratom and caffeine keeps me from getting addicted or dependent on it. Some days I get by without taking either one, and then I take my regular dose of tramadol in the late afternoon and evening.
Kratom and caffeine have helped me keep my daily doses of tramadol low. Kratom has its benefits but must be strictly controlled by the user.
Hirsuta might be a good choice to help keep kratom consumption down. It is touted to be less addictive. For me, kratom completely got me off and out of withdrawing from methadone (I was cut off methadone abruptly when withdrawing from DA's) and I am not sure if I would have made it without kratom.
I agree that some can get into trouble with kratom but it is also a huge lifesaver for many….it is quite individual as to whether you will have withdrawal issues or not.
As for RLS, kratom and hirsuta are totally worth keeping around as a backup and sometimes as the full treatment-depending.
Nobody should ever have to suffer as much as most of us have on this forum….and luckily kratom and hirsuta work to stop RLS almost instantly and are easy to get with no runaround from doctors and pharmacies.
