After I had taken the maximum amount of Ropineral, it stopped working completely. I guess this is augmentation. Then I tried Gabapentin. It didn’t work. A mild tranquilizer made it twice as bad as did a cocktail at bedtime! I was really worried, panicky. I thought I’d just have to walk all night or suffer RLS. I agreed to try CBD oil confident it would not work.
I had tried CBD oil for pain, but it didn’t help pain at all. I felt taking it for RLS was absurd, but I decided to try it. I took the horrible-tasting oil before bed. That night I had NO restless leg. Could CBD oil have kept me from having RLS? I doubted it, but I took it the next night and had no restless leg. I’ve been taking a very high quality CBD OIL for over a year, and it has cured my RLS!
Today I get it in capsule form, 50mg, and it continues to work. In the hospital a couple of times for other issues I was told they couldn’t prescribe CBD oil. Instead they put massaging cuffs around my lower leg. I was asleep a lot in those 2 or 3 nights in the hospital, so I assume putting those electrical, massaging things prevented RLS in the hospital, or it could have been the morphine, but I could not have either at home.
As soon as I got home, I started taking my CBD oil a couple of hours before my bedtime. I don’t know if the amount of time makes any difference. It’s just the 50mg CBD oil in capsules.
This solution requires no prescription, but it cost $115 a month. It is the highest quality CBD oil. The bottle says ECS Therapeutics- 50mg - BROAD SPECTRUM HEMP.
I hope you try this and I pray it cures your RLS

Thanks for sharing this. It's great that it's working for you and I hope it continues. Cannabis in this form seems to be quite effective.
Just for the sake of other readers in other countries, especially the UK, the CBD oil you refer to is not legally available. Medical cannabis requires a prescription. Hence don't just buy anything labelled simply "CBD oil" and expect to relieve your RLS. It may be expensive and do little.
Also, just to clarify, when ropinirole stops working, this is called "loss of efficacy" this is not the same as augmentation.
It seems there is some confusion about what is and what isn't "augmentation".
I took CBD oil as well and it didn't help with my RLS at all! BUT GOOD NEWS: it seems my RLS have improved about 90%! For two months now I don't need any medication anymore! I will watch it if it is just a good phase or really lasting. When I'm sure I will report what caused the cure.
That is good news - sometimes just taking CBD can have a very beneficial effect on your endocannabinoid system and improve other systems in the body so hope your wellness continues.
I Googled "ECS Therapeutics- 50mg - BROAD SPECTRUM HEMP" and it came up saying THC free. How can I tell whether what Reader5 takes is medical cannabis? Is it possible that what I am seeing come up in my Google search is just CBD oil and maybe this kind is what Reader5 is taking and can work for us, as well?
LanaCSR, broad spectrum hemp is supposed to be THC free. Full spectrum hemp would include THC (at least that’s my understanding of the terminology). The confusing thing about the brand Reader5 is recommending is that it is reportedly THC free yet somehow still requires a prescription? That doesn’t make sense because CBD is legal and shouldn’t require a prescription. 50 mg seems like a lot though. I have broad spectrum CBD around from a few years ago when I tried it for RLS. But at the time I only took 1/5 that amount. Maybe it is all about quantity? Or maybe the ECS Therapeutics offering includes some proprietary ingredient? Their level of control over the product distribution (if THC free) is odd.
Thanks for that -I take it as well and it works for me - especially helping me get to sleep and stay asleep. I do have it medically prescribed and mine has THC in it. Worth experimenting to find if it helps if people haven't tried it.
I take Althea - Capilano - 1ml is usually enough - THC/ ThCa 9.91 mg/ml CBD/CHDa 12.65 mg/ml. I get it prescribed by a doctor. I am going to trial another brand this week as i have heard it is stronger and less expensive. The price is going down quite a lot as new companies come on board. I am interested in trialing different brands.
I'm very pleased for you Reader 5! But if you could please let us know whether or not your CBD oil contains THC it would be very interesting to know! A lot of us are in the UK or other countries where cannabis is generally illegal. On the whole we find CBD oil without THC (fashionable and easily available) has no effect at all on RLS and CBD oil with THC is not available without prescription.
Medical cannabis is legal in the UK - I'm on it.Link attached. We have to pay for it and mine works out at about £1.50 a day.
It doesn't stop my RLS but I take the oil (with 20% THC) and it knocks me out for around 3 hours which is a vast improvement on being woken every hour.
I too tried CBD oil to help me sleep...not expecting it to help RLS, which I've had for nearly 50 years. I bought it online with some Jellies...on offer. The sweets didn't help but after putting a couple of drops of CBD oil under my tongue last thing at night I slept and had no RLS...every time I had RLS in bed I tried CBD oil...and it has worked! Tonight I tried CBD oil as soon as I felt my legs twitching...and it's working...amazing.😊I don't have RLS every night but I feel so relieved that something works. I have already tried copper bracelets, Valerian, tonic water...but with no permanent success. I have never been prescribed medication as I don't want to become dependent ....after reading articles on this website.
I'm pleased you too have found relief 😀
I am sorry, I misread your post, I thought you'd written there was THC in the oil you buy. It seems this isn't the case.
Hi there. I’m new to this site so firstly hello and I’m sorry to here about your RLS. I also have this horrible problem and the only thing that helps me is the Tramadol I take for arthritis. I also tried Ropineral and it didn’t do anything. The constant pacing around at night is enough to drive you insane. I’m so glad the oil worked for you I haven’t tried that yet. Anyways, take care.
This particular CBD product is only available in the USA and the manufacturers are not permitted to send it to other countries. Several of you are very knowledgeable about all these medical matters. Is there a similar product, i.e. 50mg capsules available in the UK and Spain?
I think Reader5 is just advertising for that CBD company. It's pretty disgusting to do that on a message board in such a way, but this day and age, it happens. Do your own due diligence.
