See my reply to your earlier post, and download and read the iron therapy paper from the link I gave at the bottom of that reply: your transferrin saturation of 24% is at the low end and your ferritin is below 100.

Take 325 mg of ferrous sulfate which contains 65 mg of elemental iron, the normal amount used to increase ones ferritin, or 50 mg to 75 mg (which is elemental iron) of iron bisglycinate with 100 mg of vitamin C or some orange juice since that helps its absorption. Also take Lactobacillus plantarum 299v as it helps its absorption. And you can also take apo-lactoferrin which also helps its absorption. Ferrous sulfate is fine for most people, but if you have problems with constipation, iron bisglycinate is better.

Take it every other day, preferably at night at least 1 hour before a meal or coffee or tea and at least 2 hours after a meal or coffee or tea since iron is absorbed better on an empty stomach and the tannins in coffee and tea limit absorption.

If you take magnesium, calcium or zinc, even in a multivitamin take them at least 2 hours apart since they interfere with the absorption of iron. Also antacids interfere with its absorption so should be taken at least 4 hours before the iron or at least 2 hours after. Don't take your iron tablets before or after exercise since inflammation peaks after a workout. Don't take turmeric as it can interfere with the absorption of iron or at least take it in the morning if you take your iron at night. It takes several months for the iron tablets to slowly raise your ferritin. Ask for a new blood test after 3 months.

Hi thanks for that..I might take the iron bisglycinate How much? And what is lactobacillus planetarium.? Is that a probiotic? Should I take the iron at lunchtime maybe. As I take magnesium at 4 in the afternoon. So just take the iron with orange juice.

Yes it is a probiotic. The answers to your other questions are in my reply.

Ok sorry I've only had 6 hours sleep the last few days. So I take the 50- 75 iron bisglycinate. Do I take the probiotic at the same time? So I take my magnesium 2 hrs apart from that. Also I take the magnesium but also use a magnesium rub that won't push me over will it as I know magnesium can be toxic in large amounts. The rub I use ancient minerals it goes in through the skin.

yes take them at the same time. No I wouldn't worry about too much magnesium.
