Self-help with nutritional supplements for RLS

I have RLS for about twelve years. I have started with a few restex. It worked great but I read about the augmentation. So I decided to find a better way for me.

I startet with homeopathy (zincum valerianicum). It worked for a half year. Then I found CES brain stimulation. this worked also for a half year.

After that I found the amino acids Phenylalanin (-L, -DL) and Tryptophan. It helps me to get enough sleep when I take it just before going to bed. When I started with this I had to increase the dosage to 3g each.

After a while I was able to reduce...

This is the processing chains of the body. So it is clear why it could help.

Phenylalanine - Tyrosine - L-Dopa .........and .......... Thryptophan - 5-HTP - Serotonin - Melatonin

Later I Switched to the "next level" taking Tyrosine with B12 (500mg) and 5-HTP (50mg) to spare the first processing step.

Sometimes I need a second dose in the nigth.

Another useful supplement is the amino acid glutamin (not glutamat). One coffee spoon in a glass of water helps also.

This recipes works for me for about ten years now, together with cold calf casts.

When I recommend the recipes I get better response with Phenylalanine + Thryptophan than Tyrosine + 5-HTP.

The responses depending on the Glutamin are also good.

At the moment I am looking for other recipes again because of reduced effect lately.

I get also problems with the cold calf casts. The calf don't stop burning. At the moment I am testing another amino acids to calm the nerves, Carnosine, Carnitine, GABA, wild blueberry powder...

Does anybody has made similar experiences?

Thank you.

Kind Regard.

I've been whittling down various combinations of otc vitamins and herbs as avilable in the U.S., taking them in the early evening when my RLS acts up. One combo/evening. I've been eliminating those combos that don't seem effective, but those that have worked are: Niacin plus Ashwaganda KSM-66; 500 mg magnesium; 25mg CBD plus 25mg THC plus Ashwaganda; 50mg CBD plus 50mg THC; 25 mg THC plus 400 IUs vitamin D; 300 mg CBD plus D; Ashwaganda plus B12; 1000 mg Mucuna Pruiens extract plus Ashwaganda and 5 gr Ferrous Gluconate plus Murcuna Pruiens extract. I'm slowly trying to reduce my intake of Pramixole (now .375 mg nightly) and take a daily dose of Vitron-C (iron) with orange juice.
