My sister sent me a post from a FB forum about the merits of weighted blankets. Has anyone any experience of these that they could share? Positive or negative!

I spent close to a hundred bucks on one. It was kinda comforting, but helped my RLS not at all.

I love the weight on me at night with a heavy blanket. But it's not a weighted blanket..I do not notice a difference in my RLS at all. It's still driving me crazy...

Mine really did not help with my RLS either but then I wasn’t thinking that it would. Sounds like you’re like me with RLS - I hate it!!!!!

So last night was my first time taking pramipexole. It took my RLS away but I was awake all night. I couldn't sleep and tossed and turned the entire night..does anyone have info on why this could happen or anyone else go through this too..any info would definitely help..thanks. I thought this stuff was suppose to help you sleep..🤔😴

I couldn’t get on with pramipexole so I can’t tell you about it. Your message was linked to my question about weighted blankets. You might like to post it again as a new item so that everyone can see it.

No problem. If you search pramipexole you will find all sorts of comments

Drugs like pramipexole are dopamine agonists which can increase glutamate levels in the brain causing exitotoxicity.. I have suffered insomnia for years & it’s got much worse lately. I have recently put myself on a strict low glutamate diet & it really seems to be working but early days still.

I loved mine! And, the only reason I am no longer using mine now I can now longer make my bed with it. I got a 20# (Do not get a heavy one like that.) because I was going to bed with several blankets for not only the warmth but the way it made me feel “emotionally”, if that makes any sense. (I have major Depression & Generalized Anxiety to name a few.) But, I would definitely “recommend” it.

I’ve had one for two years now and I think it helps my RLS but once the weather gets warmer I put it away for the summer. I live in Wisconsin and just to warm in summer but I believe it helps my RLS.
