Has anyone tried weighted blankets for RL relief of symptoms?
A friend has suggested buying one to help with insomnia, I have mixed feelings though.

Hi Lunatha, if you look at Related Posts you will see at least five past postings on weighted blankets. Here is one of them:
Hi have you been prescribed any medications by your doctor I find Pramipexole works pretty good Good luck
I was prescribed Clonazepam - I was left on it for 20 years until it I started to experience what’s called a paradoxical effect, I was having withdrawal symptoms for over a year and wasn’t aware. Very unpleasant. I’m now at on the last bit of a tapering program, in two weeks I’ll be completely off them.
The RL is manageable at the moment, just about. If do some stretching / yoga and meditation, take hot baths with magnesium salts and drink magnesium in a herbal tea in the eve. When it’s particularly bad, I have a position I lay in - on my front with my feet raised on a bolster, it really helps. So I guess I’m wanting to see how I can manage drug free - I want to give my brain a chance to readjust.
One other thing I do is resist the urge to move, I’ve broken out in a sweat doing this, but if I mange to stay completely still, the urge to move stops.
Do you have any side effects from the meds you are on?
Please Nikon-, even if I do it with the best intention, how is it possible that I can advise someone Pramipexole after what we read every day on this website? Pramipexole is a road to hell even though it looks very pretty at first. If you haven't started Dopamine Agonists, and pramipexole is, find another remedy. Here you can find very good advices from people who know a lot and from people who have suffered a lot with Dopamine Agonists.
I did not find weighted blanket helpful at all. In fact, it was irritating to me.
