just been put on clonazepam 500mcg per day. this seems to help with RLS but does not keep me asleep all night I tried taking 2 tablets but side effects next day were terrible. i was prev on Zolpidem which were brilliant for sleep but not good for RLs so ended up on other medication for RLS. Still gtting sleepy side effects from Clonazepam but my doctor thinks ill settle down in couple of weeks? has anyone had exprience with Clonazepam for RLs. any advice would be appreciated. Thanks. mike.

Hi Mike, I've been on 2 mg of clonazepam for over ten years for anxiety. I suffer with severe 24 hour a day rls. Unfortunately clonazepam does not help with legs. I'm down to 1 mg now but if I take it past 8pm I'm wonky the next day. Hate being on it but so hard to get off. Good luck

Hi Mike,

I’ve been on 1mg for 30-years to treat anxiety. It does nothing for my RLS. Pregabalin 150mg is helping quite a bit, while I’m still trying to wean off 1mg of Ropinirole.

Good luck. I hope you find a treatment plan that works :)

Hi Mike

I have taken Clonazepan (0.5 mg) for many years, one pill every night to sleep and control RLS. She even slept well on half a pill. But clonazepan is a benzodiazepine and therefore has the side effects that as time passes you have to increase the dose to have the same effect and also the effect of dependence occurs, with the subsequent withdrawal syndrome if you stop suddenly. Also if it takes too long it affects memory, you lose memory. I stopped when I was taking 2mg.

I was with Rotigotine patches for a while and when I reached the tolerable limit again, I dropped it again. Now I take Trazodone (100 mg), just one tablet at night to sleep and every 3-4 days I mix half a tablet of Trazodone (50 mg) with half a tablet of Clonazepan (0.25 mg) and it goes great. But always with the fear of not abusing clonazepan so as not to enter into tolerance and dependence.

Trazodone is sold in Spain under the name Deprax and is an ineffective antidepressant, but a good sedative; and clonazepan is an anticonvulsant, which is known under the name Rivotril.

Works for me. No next day Sleepiness. Maybe wait and see if that effect lessens over the next week or so.

Edit: clonazepam doesn’t help with pain so that takes another med: either paracetamol if pain not bad or else codeine phosphate. If pain is v bad then I need Oxycodone but the smallest dose that works and I expect drowsiness in the morning. Good luck 🙂

I haven't slept all night in many years. If you find a magic solution which doesn't involve stacking dubious drugs I would love to know. Meanwhile good luck with finding a regime which works for you.

Rivotril Clonazepam really helps me. It starts to work very quickly making me feel calm and relaxed again! This was my first time ordering medication online. I chose pharmacy-weightloss.net. The customer service team is always on hand and the medication is highly effective.
