New to community - Q about essential oils

Has anyone had any success with using essential oils? I have mild RLS but it affects my sleep most nights and I disturb my partner. I’m looking for natural remedies.

Compression stockings worked for a long time but I find they’re not helping lately. I take sertraline (Zoloft) for anxiety and depression but I don’t want to come off it at the moment because it’s helped me immensely.

Hi and welcome!

I use rosemary oil to help wake me up inside and I use lavender oil to calm my mental nerves.

I use magnesium spray to use directly on the legs this has helped me and I’ve started taking the magnesium tablets which seems to have calmed my rls

If you want natural, change your diet. Try a paleo diet for a while to see if it makes a difference. If it doesn't, no harm done.

Sadly the Zoloft will make RLS worse so if you could find an alternative, it would really help your RLS. Maybe an essential oil for anxiety? I hope you find something that helps.

Also check your blood serum ferritin. Raising it above 100 might reduce the RLS symptoms.

Thank you all for the excellent suggestions. I want to take a holistic approach so I will try as many of these suggestions as possible.

The only remedy if you have rls and waking your partner up is other bed in another room..I have not slept with my partner for 11 years because of wrecking her sleep as well as mine..but I have rls all through the day in a very acute way..I have other problems as well but you can try cbd cream..I have wonderful things about it but I have not tried it myself..Holland and barrett's have a buy one and get one for a penny on cbd assorted creams and oils..but if your rls gets worse you can ask your doctor about medication to help..unfortunately I have found with the length of time I have had rls it only gets worse and more prominent as time goes by
