Ended up in the er with pneumonia and a headache that had me in tears. They finally gave me the headache cocktail of benedryl, toradol, and compazine. The nurse warned me that compazine can cause anxiety. I did not have those side effects, but it almost immediately kicked my severe Rls into high gear. My husband had to stop the car on the way home 10 degree weather so I could run around the car. Such a nightmare!

Interesting ER Experience
Oh geez! So sorry!
I hate it when the RLS kicks in to the point of being controlled by it. I was visiting family in Houston, Texas not to long ago. My husband and I were out running errands when my legs decided that it was time for an attack. We had just finished up at one strip mall and were headed to the car to drive to the next strip mall (the distance between strip malls was not a big one, but walking is not an option in Houston unless you want to risk getting run over). Nevertheless, my attack was such that I told my husband I would rather risk walking and getting hit by a car than be confined in a car for all of 5 minutes. So, here I was, the one pedestrian trying to fight my way through a sea of cars. It was not an easy walk, but this syndrome requires drastic measures at times. Thankfully, I was soon safely walking around our next store. I walked around that place about 20 times. I couldn't even stand in line at the checkout and had to pass my wares onto my husband (mid-walk) so that he could do that and I could keep going. Losing control like that is so tiring, not just physically, but also mentally since you have all these panicked thoughts running around in your head.
Unfortunately Benedryl sounds like the culprit here, they gave you, Its usually a no no to take for RLSers, because of making symptoms worse.
