I'm very thankful for Shumbah for introducing the knowledge of this drug that has helped her. I got in touch with Dr Brooks from New York that helped her. After a phone conversation, he agreed to give me a small prescription of 6 tablets of Buprenorphine 2mg. I was to cut in half to 1 mg and take before bed and see how my body and RLs reacts. I replied back to him the next day and was so excited it helped with my RLS, but I had bad side effects of the drug not related to RLS. I couldn't get pass the nausea, fatigue, vomiting, headache.....so sleepy all the time and could not function. Several days I continued with such a small dosage, but could not get pass the side effects. I have problems with my adrenal glands and the drug unfortunately affected my adrenal glands in a negative way BUT it did help the RLS. This is a great drug to use while getting off dopamine agonists drugs. It could really help.
I have had RLS for over 30 years. I'm still on Pramipexole low dosage, but was hoping to get off to use something without chances of augmentation.
I hope my experience along with Shumbah and others with this drug can help someone else.

Hi Smuu, I tried buprenorphine about three weeks ago and lasted a total of five days. Even though I cut the 2mg pills into eights, I simply was unable to function. The nausea, headaches and fatigue were unbearable, but even worse was the brain fog. It took several weeks for my memory to return. Dr. Brooks said my situation was highly unusual, and I believe him, as he’s treated thousands of patients with this medication and it’s worked beautifully.
There is another form of buprenorphine, called Belbuca, which is absorbed by placing a film inside your cheek. Apparently, it is available is much smaller doses, for those of us who are highly sensitive. The downside is that it is very expensive, a couple hundred dollars a month, not covered by insurance.
Possibly that is an alternative for you. Best of luck to you!
Sounds like your experience was so much like mine. I don't know about you, but had I taken a stronger dose of the buprenorphine, I don't know if I would be here today. 🙁
Yes....the side effects were too hard. Glad you are finally recovering. Thank you for the information.
I’ve been taking 75mg pregabalin for about three weeks and have only had RLS one night. I have no side effects from it. Unfortunately, I’m still taking 1mg Ropinirole, and having an impossible time weaning off of it. Good luck 😊
