Hi everyone. The last couple of weeks I've been trying the relaxis pad. I like having it as a non- drug tool. But even more than that, the rep calls a couple of times a week to see how I'm doing. Really made me realize what a lonely oddesy most of us are on as we endure long nights. Also wanted to say that I've been using a tip from Involuntary Dancer: i try to think of a project, such as cleaning out a, closet, to do when i know a long night is coming. I think many of us are finding that combinations of things work best.
Thanks to all of you for being there

I did it. I was up all night, every night for a prolonged period of thine.... could not sit or lie down without twitches and jumps. Helped me to do something productive
Hi Belsheart. I posted the following eslewhere yesterday after talking to Carl at Relaxis. Is this consistent with what u learned? Is it working?
Pad reduces RLS symptoms for me but does not help me sleep. Talked with Carl at Relaxis again last week. Their recommendations now are based on feedback from users. Some find it helpful to sit on pad or rest legs on pad for one or two cycles (1 cycle is 35 minutes) BEFORE going to bed. If your RLS kicks in after a few hours sleep users are finding it helpful upon waking, while still in bed with legs on pad, run pad at level 1 for 10 seconds, then up it to level 5 for 1 minute, then back to level 1 for 30+ minutes as u fall asleep until it turns off automatically. I will try these user suggested protocols and report back. Relaxis cannot put them on their web site until FDA approved studies are carried out successfully.
I have not tried the protocol you mentioned, but i will try it. I do the two sessions at 8 pm and find i sleep well (i am also taking a small dose of pramipexole and also 600 mg of gabapentin). I find rls wakes me at about 6 or am some mornings. When i want to sleep in, i use the pad in bed on 2 setting. I fall asleep before it shuts off. We'll see how i do tonight as i had cocktails at a party.......
I would say the best thing I've found for sleep is melatonin, 5 mg, taken hours before i want to sleep
That's interesting about using melatonin since for many if not most melatonin triggers attacks of RLS. All I take is 300 mg gabapentin and awake after 3 hours with severe RLS. I shd try 600 mg but even 300 makes me groggy with headache by morning. Just like with meds, individuals shd experiment with the Relaxis pad.
It might well be that the melatonin would aggravate my legs if i did not have the other meds on board. But so does lack of sleep. So gabapenbtin at that low dose is all you take? Well done. I wish I'd never started the agonists
