RLS dramatization

I have a YouTube Channel called: Palm Springs Cindy. I am what is called a content creator. One of my shows is on RLS. I tell my RLS story and explain what it feels like for me. I created the video to reach out to others who may have RLS and to demonstrate what it feels and looks like when I have an episode. If interested or if you would like someone close to you to know how it feels please watch. Go to YouTube, type in Palm Springs Cindy RLS and it should come up. I hope the video provides information that helps others living with RLS.

Hi I watched your youtube video .

You are not alone. I have been suffering from this since childhood in some form or another . As a very young child it was in the form of aching lower legs and it developed into the symptoms you describe when I was somewhere between 12 and 14yrs old . Like you I had no idea it was a real condition so I never told anyone. It became a real problem during pregnancy and it was after my 2nd son was born that I saw a documentary about sleep problems and realised others had the same thing. I went to se my GP and was given Ropinerol 1/2 mg and that helped for 15 years. Then all of a sudden I noticed I was getting break through symptoms or it started earlier in the evening or sometimes during the day . This started happening more and more often so I started researching it and came across this site and learned all about augmentation. I am off Ropinerol now and take Tramadol and Lyrica instead . So far so good. It is really hard to describe just how awful the symptoms of this disease are to a non sufferer, it is impossible to explain how intense the need to move the legs is and even if you can put it into words it they would never "get it" unless they had experienced it. On some occasions I have thought I was going mad . I am 1 of 7 children and am the only one to inherit it from my parents . I hope my sons are lucky and do not develop it.

Thank God for this site and community. I would not have coped when coming off the Ropinerol without all the help and advice I received . There are many things wrong with the internet and social media sites but without them people like us would be all alone, not knowing there were others just like us. We would not be able to arm ourselves with knowledge before visiting our GPs who often know very little about this condition. I hope your meds continue to keep your symptoms at bay.
