Pramepexole - no supply

I live near Barnstaple and my local boots chemist can not give me Pramepexole as they say that there is a supply problem. This has been going on for 4 weeks. Any advice please as I will run out very soon and that scares me. Thanks

Have you tried an alternative pharmacy?

It maybe just Boots's own supply chain.

You may need to go further afield, best let your fingers do the walking.

Good luck to you

I have some! I have giving them up 3 weeks ago but surely I am not allowed to send medicine like that?!

Hope you get it all sorted asap.

Hi B

Hope the anniversary celebrations went well and you're not suffering today.

Happy anniversary for yesterday, only just seen the posts!

Pennyfarthing, this maybe a good time to get off this nasty drug like B has just done!

Regards all

Hey Prami addict ;)

Let's get you off that evil thing too :))

Thanks for the lovely wish. It went very well and no suffering today. I was cautious though. Only had one and a half glass of red with loads of water to go with it :)

Also Chinese food was ok too! So now I have to try curry or alcohol on it's own to see which triggers the rls. :)

Curry, without alcohol! Is the even possible?

I'd like to come off Pramipexole, having a blood test this week to check levels etc...once armed with the results, then I will form some sort of plan and make the effort.

😩

Good luck and look forward to hearing from you. I warn you though it isn't a easy journey but you do feel like a new person in the end. :)

Well I have to try curry/alcohol separately to see what triggered my rls the other night. :)

Too funny. I want to hear more about the curry. I think you might be having curry withdrawals.🤓🤓🤓🤓

I suffer with RLS for years now and I climb the walls sometimes is there any one out there has got one of them boosters for tired legs please let me know if and are they any good for rLs Tony

I would just like to say, to those who are taking any of the dopamine meds and your dose is no higher than what is now being recommended to take, and its working well for you, then i cant see why you would want to get off it. If it aint broke it dont need fixing. Alot of people can keep to a low dose of the dopamine meds for years without needing to increase the dose. The problems come with the dopamine meds when you find you are having to increase your dose over and over again. Thats when the big problems start, Augmentation is one of the big issues. Gambling etc can be another.

Thanks Elisse. After trying other meds and suffering augmentation quite quickly, this one is brilliant. I havn't had to increase the dose since starting it, about 2 years ago and don't want to come off it

Hi Pennyfarthing, My chemist told me that their supplier told them that the 0.88mg tablets have been discontinued. I went to another chemist and got the full prescription - so either that's just not true or it is true but the second wholesaler had enough in stock. Or maybe one brand has discontinued the 0.88 size while others still make it.

in reply to

Pennyfathing what is the make of your Pramipexole. ? They all have a brand name on the packet. Mine at the moment says Oprymea. So, what Ptilum is saying could be right.

Lordy not good at all. Is he going to watch you go through severe withdrawals? Has your Dr given you an alternate Excellent? I hope so.

Take care. 😐 Do take care

I really cant believe that the 0.088mgs have been discontinued. BUT if its so, then go back to your doctor and explain to them and ask for the next strength up, then cut them in half to get your 0.088 I am going to do some investigating myself and ask my chemist about this.

I have just had a call from my pharmacist informing me that there is a nationwide problem with the supply of pramiplexole. I could not believe it so came onto forum to see if it was true and looks like it is. I have been put on Ropinirole instead. Not happy.
