The weekend is just around the corner ...

Good morning everyone - although the weather is not as nice as it has been but what the heck, at least it's not raining (or snowing come to that) and there is some pale blue sky and I'm now into day 5 and so far so good!

Breakfast this morning comprised porridge with sulatanas and a piece of toast - my appetite has certainly awoken but I've managed to diet before and will do so again (which I definitely think will become necessary) as it is far, far easier than stopping smoking but at the moment not going to bother, stick to the no smoking first and then worry about the weight.

At last, it's Friday, so come 4 pm today, the weekend starts here. In one respect I am really looking forward to it but in another respect, I am dreading it as it will be my first two days not being at work therefore as I intend keeping (very) busy to not allow myself to think about smoking, it should be said if the dogs or himself sit too long in one place they may well find themselves polished to a high gloss!! I may even do the ironing which I absolutely detest but that will definitely take my mind off smoking as I can watch some tv whilst I do it. Why do weekends go so quickly? You blink and it's Friday evening and you blink again and it's either Sunday evening or Monday morning - can anybody logically explain how the same number of hours seem to just 'fly' by?

I walk to work every day as I only live 10/15 minutes away (not good when there's snow as you can't not get there) and I pass a car which has a sign on it's windscreen. I saw it again yesterday and debated last night as to whether to tell everyone about it as, me personally, can read it two ways but perhaps that is me being me and others can't but would be interested to know your interpretation/understanding of it. YOU ONLY HAVE ONE LIFE - SO JUST LIVE IT!

Here's hoping that we all have a stress free, smoke free day and remember NO thank you does not cause offence and TIME IS PRECIOUS, WASTE IT WISELY.

Have a good day everyone and as I have learnt in just a few days - together we can conquer all!

Take care,

Hi Buttons Big well done and the weekend will be fine as you wont want to undo all your good work :)

For me the sign means, live every moment and enjoy..accept the good and the bad and make the most and the best of every situation. However as a recent quitter I can see how you may read it lol :)

have a crunchie Friday xx jan

Buttons52, you are doing really, really, really, really well! You're already thinking ahead and have plans in place to distract or face up to any challenges of stopping smoking that you may come across.

My interpretation of 'YOU ONLY HAVE ONE LIFE - SO JUST LIVE IT' is the same as Jans. I see it as a positive and think that people generally don't really understand how precious life is until they are faced with the possibilty of saying 'goodbye'. This is when the next true words set in: TIME IS PRECIOUS, WASTE IT WISELY :D

Keep up the good efforts and if you just take one step at a time, you'll be on to a winner :-)
