Hiya Caz, Andi here. I was hoping that by the time I got as far down the road as you are I might have stopped thinking about cigarettes most of the time. Come and join in with our daily chat as I've found that that has really lifted me in the past when I've been feeling depressed.
You've come to the right place - don't know what I'd have done without it. I haven't used patches or nrt so I can't comment on that I'm afraid but some of the others will I'm sure.
Anyway, welcome and come and join in - it really will lift your mood and help.
Andi
Hi Caz, I am jillygirl, welcome to our community , like andi and pete have already said youve come to the right place. I use a inhalator which i find works for me. As for feeling depressed, I too sometimes feel like that and tend to blame not having cigs, then I think to myself stop being silly its my body thats getting better and healthier, and its my brain thats thinking whats going on no ciggys. I try and make myself busy when i get down. We all have our ups and downs and have a good moan on this site. Before you know it , you cant help but smile. Emjay is our advisor who I am sure will contact you tomorrow or claire another advisor. They really are helpful and really friendly. Please Caz like andi says join in with us all we are just like one big family.
Hi Caz, going to be signing off soon. So night god bless from all of us here . Hope to see you tomorrow. xxxx
Hey Caz1212
Congratulations on making it through you first 3months of quitting
Welcome to our Happy online stop smoking community. You can dip in and out as you need to or would like. We do have some great experiences and advice that is shared between our members. You'll find most through our daily chat. If there is anything that you want to know, either pop it in the search button at the top right corner, have a nosie through our archive section of blogs and question, or just ask and we'll be more than happy to help
Can I just ask you a couple of questions so that I know what advice to give you?
1. What are your reasons for wanting to stop smoking in the first place?
2. What have you found to be the positives and negatives of stopping so far?
3. If you have you started using the patches already, are they 16 or 24 hours?
4. Have you considered the inhalator?
I'll check in on you tomorrow. Just remember to stay positive and focus on how well you have done so far
You are doing fab
Hello Caz
You have come so far and being depressed and not smoking is just showing you how strong you are. I'm sure you will find reading our journeys, that are all different, some help.
Well Done. You are asking for help and we are all here to try and help. If you are crying a lot and really over emotional seek professional help because your low feeling may not have any link to stopping smoking. We all have ups and downs and I'm forever battling with depression.
Feel positive about being free from cigarettes and you have come so far. 3 months is fantastic I don't envy other smokers, I look at it another way and pity them. I pity them that they are not free from having to constantly buy and smoke fags. I pity them cos they stink. I acknowledge that they are nipping out for a fag in works time and I also down tools and go and put the kettle on. Instead joining them, I go and do something, an act of kindness for the whole office. I make everyone tea. Don't let other smokers justify that smoking is enjoyable and you are missing out. If you can re program your mind to look at the positive side of being smoke free you will be free. In the first few weeks I even dreamt about smoking. I don't now as I'd see having a fag now as a nightmare, I'm not craving any longer and I read a self help book to sort my head out, it did work on the not smoking front but obviously can't fix all of me
Take care of yourself and think of the positive step you have taken. Being smoke free is freedom.

Hi Caz....have you tried the electronic cigarette? That may help with your current need, although obviously you are now a non-smoker after all that time, so well done. x
