No Smoke without fire.

Oh boy! you see those adverts on tv about making sure you put out your cigarette. Make sure you have a smoke alarm. Well one of my neighbours has just been made homeless, as her house was burnt down. What a mess. I felt so sorry for her , luckily she wasnt in the house at the time.

The fire department said it was her sofa that had caught fire probably due to a cigarette smoldering.

It was horrendous to watch.

So please everyone if you do smoke or even if you dont, check you have a smoke alarm.

Another reason to quit.

We have never smoked in the house or car, its bad enough doing it outside I cant imagine why people want there homes to smell like an ashtray. It must be awfull for your neighbours losing there home, they must be in shock. Thank God they wern,t in the house. I really feel for them.

Thats so sad Jillygirl, glad to hear that your neighbour is okay though. She is very lucky.

Did you all know...?

Every year, there are around 500 deaths in house fires in the UK. Over 4 in every 10 of these deaths are as a result of someone being careless with smoking materials, like cigarettes, matches and lighters.

That’s around 200 people killed every year.

I bet you are so glad that you no longer smoke anymore yourself!

Thanks emjay. Smoking sure does kill in more ways than one. At least I never smoked in the house, but in the porch. However it still drifted. and you cant be too careful.
