I just joined this group in order to both support others and have a place where if I ever need support around not picking up tobacco again it will be there for me in place already.
When I talk about smoking cigarettes and tobacco the overwhelming majority of the time I'm going to say 'smoking tobacco' because the last 5 years I smoked I was smoking little cigars instead of cigarettes.
In the place where I live the tax laws are worded such that little cigars cost $6 to $9 less per pack than cigarettes.
I couldn't afford to smoke cigarettes and I was so horribly addicted to the nicotine and the act of smoking itself that I couldn't stop so I had to smoke those horrible things.
It's important to me to remind myself of that.
I actually very emphatically SMOOSHED the last one out at 9:38 p.m. on November 17th 2016 about which I am extremely grateful and super stoked.πΈ Unfortunately I haven't been 100% not-smoking-anything-free since then because I used to have Substance Use Disorder and I had a couple few slips but somehow I managed to not smoke tobacco those nights.
I'm looking forward to meeting y'all and becoming a part of this community.
Peace and blessings, MorningDance π§‘ποΈπ»

Thank you for sharing some of your journey. Well done to you. Sounds like you have managed to keep on track, even at some difficult times, well done!
Also, well done for reaching out to some support, whether to offer or receive, that is credit to you and looking after yourself.
This site offers amazing support and it has been for me in my quit journey and still does, reminds me of how well Iβm doing and where going backwards takes me π
Even though every once in awhile I miss smoking I don't miss tobacco.
It's so disgusting and nasty.
Whenever I smell it on other people I turn green and gag literally.
Every once in awhile I'll find myself wishing there were something to smoke that taste good, isn't poisonous, isn't habit forming, doesn't make you sick, doesn't smell gross, isn't expensive, et al.
Of course there's no such thing so I don't and haven't for two and a half years anything at all.
