Hi gary, Well done for your decision to quit👏 and of course for your 3 smoke free weeks.

Welcome to Quit Support.💙

It’s never easy to quit but it’s easier with a little support.💪

When we quit smoking ,whether it's suddenly or using NRT (nicotine replacement therapy) Our bodies enjoy new, clean blood circulation. When I quit my gums hurt so much I thought all my teeth would fall out, but it was just my gums getting used to the new, clean blood.

If your headaches get worse or you are worried,I suggest you have a word with your doctor.

Please read the pinned posts,📌 there is lots of information there. You will find the posts to the right or at the bottom of your screen depending which device you are using. Just click “posts” then click “pinned posts”.

May I suggest you drink plenty of water💧💦 to flush out the toxins and keep yourself hydrated.

If you feel you need any more help please don’t hesitate to ask. There is always someone here.

Please let us know your exact quit date so that we can assign you a winners' badge and add your name to the wall of winners.

May I remind you not to post any personal information.

Good luck with your quit.🍀🚭xx

Welcome to Quit Support,

Nicotine withdrawal involves physical, mental, and emotional symptoms. The first week, especially days 3 through 5, is always the worst. That’s when the nicotine has finally cleared out of your body and you’ll start getting headaches, cravings, and insomnia.

These can last a few days or two or three weeks.

If you can get over that hump, the physical symptoms will start to go away -- but you’ll still be dealing with mental and emotional challenges such as anxiety, depression, and irritability. Those will also taper off after a few weeks.

If you find the headaches are getting worse please see your doctor.

It may be you need some nrt. to help you quit.

I have added a link from our pinned posts.

Well done for staying off them for three weeks. You've made a great leap forward. I had all sorts of weird reactions to quitting. They eventually fade.

Congrats on 3weeks Gary.. now I have a lung doctor I have to discuss with before I can do anything cause I only have 20% of lungs left so far I am doing great and this group is the best.. so keep up the good work Gary but do check with your doctor 😊
