First of all plan your quit day.
Make a list of the reasons why you wish to quit. Put this list somewhere prominent
So you see it regularly. Keep a copy in your pocket or bag.
Make a date and don’t change it.
Before that date be prepared to throw away any smoking related items.
That means ashtrays, lighters, matches, tobacco, cigars, cigarettes etc.
Have plenty of water ready for your first day.
Have some nibbles around. Nuts, diced fruit, dates, even mints or boiled sweets.
Plan on what you will do. Go shopping, walking, gym, cycle, phone a friend etc.

Think was it habit , for example just when you have finished a meal.

Or patches. It could be just the hand to mouth action you are missing.

Now go and treat yourself for getting through the day.
If you slipped up
and went and bought some cigarettes then think about whether you could change anything tomorrow. It can take a few attempts but whatever it takes keep on trying. You can conquer this addiction,and your not on your own.
