Strong carving to eat chocolate

It’s very strange .. I am not having any carving to smoke but having huge carving for chocolate

And it’s very strange for me .. I have not eaten chocolate (or that matter sweets ) for more than 10 year (except small pinch on occasions) , basically I don’t like them .

But now I am like dying for it. Already had one 😂😂.

I m worried now that my whole fridge is full of chocolate (all chocolate gifted to my daughter, she also hardly eat them ) and I was kind of okay feeling I won’t eat chocolate anyways . But now this strange carving .

Thats strange when I quit I couldnt stand the taste of chocolate, 6 years ago. Still not over keen on it.

Minds play differently with different ppl lol .., I was not able to stand their taste before quitting 😊😊

I think that makes sense. Nicotine is not only a strong stimulent, but also attaches to the recptors in your brain which transmit the "feel good" chemical, dolpamine. These are the same receptors which make heroin, cocaine, and oxycotin so addictive. Chocolate, in a much milder way, helps give you a small short 'dose' of that feel good chemical. Just thinkin it makes sense. Lots of alcoholics & addicts drink huge amounts of coffee at AA/NA meetings.

Grimreaper, so eat the chocolate! Just don't fill the fridge with it and eat it all day! I had strange cravings to and some of my normal eating things all of a sudden turned my stomach! I pretty sure this will pass with time. A little chocolate won't hurt, you likely just need something to put in your mouth besides a cigarette! You are doing great, give yourself a reward. xxx

I ate one already .😊😊 I need to control my eating btw as I m on thyroid treatment and with quitting I will gain weight before I can even blink my eyes . I m trying to walk as much as possible .

My reward will be buying a running shoes after saving of one month of non smoking . Tomorrow I am going to try my w1r1 again of C25K run program wish me luck ..

Good for you! I was diagnosed after quitting with Graves disease so I am aware of the weight gain, so far I have lost weight from Hyper but if I go Hypo, look out! Good luck on the run! You'll do awesome!

Hi I have become incredibly addicted to junk food ie chocolate, cake etc. and crave it even more now I have packed in the fags. I don't have any answers I'm afraid but just wanted to let you know you weren't alone. x

Thanks it feels better to know I m not alone .. but still we need to figure out how to overcome this

Those chocolate cravings will last for only a period of time ..for now try the very dark chocolate with almost not sugar ..usually you can get it at a healthy Whole Foods supermarket .Try drinking cold water and herbal teas they are very comforting and healthy for you ! Good job for exercising !!

Yes, definitely let yourself have some chocolate! Like others said, just don't go too crazy with it. But you are quitting smoking which is insanely hard, so you deserve some chocolate!!!

I think your cravings will get better as time goes on...at least mine have, so hopefully yours will too. My appetite is becoming more normal now, but was huge when I first quit.
